I can relate to this comic, so much. There's currently a heat wave where I live and I can bearly function.
However, I don't have a problem with the days lasting longer.

The understandable partner was added because of a criticism that I painted a picture of depression that was too black, that no relationship was possible with a depressed person. Unfortunately not too many people are like her, but I wanted to show how acceptance and listening make a relationship better, even if the reality is harsher.

Yes! This comic just spoke my mind. Thank you so much. Living in country where winter is snowy and freezing, I'd add to the list also not being able to wear big and warm clothes. I love coldness and dark winter just so much more than summer.

like, you seriously expect me to enjoy myself in 110 degree heat? that's just asking for a heat stroke or second degree burns. and nights become so much shorter too. I always get so excited once fall comes around

I'm super isolated at home since my mom won't let me drive anywhere besides college, not that I've got anywhere to drive to. The days are beautiful but I hate the bugs, the heat, and the outdoors in general, so I've got nothing to do but sleep until the afternoon to shorten my days and to avoid getting restless and sad from the realization that I am doing nothing.

Between dealing with the funeral of a was-going-to-be-an-in-law, moving into a new house, and trying to tie the last few ends of a wedding together, this is pretty much how I feel. Once my fiance goes to work, I'm in the house alone for a good 8 hours and I spend the majority of that sleeping, crying, or laying in bed hating the fact that I'm laying in bed.
Really doesn't help that I literally have no social circle either. I got unlucky with my studio classes and ended up with people I just don't mingle well with. They've actively kicked me out of their cliques and made it very obvious they don't give two shits about me, so during the summer when fiance is off at work I'm essentially alone :T Makes me feel bad because then fiance spends all day at work worrying about me...

I. Hate. Summer. I'm always getting worse anxiety tics in the summer, and since there's no school, I can't see my friends. Autumn, on the other hand, is the most relaxing season of the year. With heavy rain and long nights, everything is so much easier.

Yeah, I wanted the take away be that the summer "shoulds" should NOT dictate how you spend your summer. Have the summer YOU want, not the one society tells you to have. If you want to spend it inside, that's an OK way to spend summer too.
