You can hide from the world,
but not from the brand on your shoulder.
You, who coaxed the tiny ant
through its own spiraled labyrinth;
You, who designed with intricate detail
not your refuge but your prison.
Oh, don't pretend you know the way -
you were lost before you stepped inside.
Now you're flying on your son's
melting wings.

I have always loved the story of Daedalus. Such a sad, but interesting tale that has inspired poets, authors, and musicians alike. I'm glad to see it's inspired you as well. About the poem: I loved the last two lines. Powerful, strong endings in poetry always make me smile.

I wish I could better express how much I like this. It has been years since I read any Greek mythology, and it was never a strong subject for me despite my interest in it. I have a Greek friend on Facebook with whom I will share this, because I believe she will enjoy it.
Then I will do some studying.

She liked it very much. I had to copy-and-paste it for her, though. She was having trouble connecting to dA for some reason.

I love this! The theme, the take on the labyrinth, everything!
