As you might already know, I have already posted a tutorial today. I double-post because that tutorial should have been published a long time ago and I postponed making it too long. I hope you will enjoy and learn something from it. Here is a refreshing (a bit too summery) lemon blueberry cake. I loved the concept and the looks of this dish.Special mention: on New Year's Eve, I will have a big announcement for you guys. I am still figuring out how to make it known to you, but I hope it will make you as excited as I am.

Your art is amazing ! I want to eat every of your delicious cakes ! You use a perfect style, with sweet and bright colours that reminds me of my childhood and bring backs lots of nice memorires ! Your simple but nice and sweet shapes are very pleasant to see, and they give a very realistic side to your art. You also have a lot of imagination and creativity. You know the perfect recipes to represent with a lot of originality and talent and I'm sure you inspire a lot of artists ! Even if your art are sometimes too "blurry", it's the only flaw of your art. Hi, Applejack! First, allow me to thank you for dropping by, making time to leave a comment and giving me so many compliments! It makes me happy to hear that I can invoke emotions with my work. Second, could you please be a bit more precise with what you mean by 'blurry'? When someone notices a defect I usually want to improve, so I am asking this for my own personal... well, improvement as an artist. I want to understand more clearly if you are referring to imprecise contours, blurry switches between textures or if it's something entirely different.

You're welcome and you deserves all these compliments ! For the "blurry" I meant that some of your pictures are very neat but some parts are kinda blurry, like when you see something trough a rough water if you know what I mean (on the bluberry pancake for exemple, even if I want to eat it !) ! It's the blurry switches between textures you were talking about. I don't know If you did it on purpose, but it doesn't matter for me, your art is still very very very very amazing, don't worry !

Just as a tip, the things I do can be learned through practice. Try drawing simple shapes from reality, paying attention to light and colour (start with simple spheres, like a ball; simple rectangular shapes, like a box; and simple pyramids, if you have any decorative object in that shape; don't add decorations or complicated textures, but try rendering the shape). After a while, you will get to draw realistic images and your brain will learn a lot about how to do that through observation. If you ever feel like your performance isn't good enough when drawing a shape, look up tutorials on youtube, those help a lot too. And when you get things right, you can graduate to more complex shapes. You will get to drawing realistically, but you need to persevere. There is no such thing as natural born talent.

No, I haven't. Lately, I have not allowed myself to eat sugar. I remember lemon creams my grandmother use to make and the taste of berry-filled sweets, so I think I can approximate the taste in my mind.

No, not really. The idea is to not spike the level of insulin in my body, so I don't eat too many carbs and avoid any type of sugar. It's a lifestyle choice I don't really discuss with people because I fear I might sound strange to them. I'm neither ill nor judgemental (as far as I can tell) of other people's food choices, and I don't want to come across as such by stating what I consider to be healthy eating. Just to clarify my choice, I think it's healthy to eat fruit when they are in season, to get a refill of vitamins and minerals, but apart from those two months a year, I keep sugars, starches and carbs as far from my plate as possible. I eat (some sorts of) veggies, meats and fats. That's not to say I dislike sugar and sweets. I love their taste, I just keep away from them because I get fat just by breathing in the smell of them.

I really like the texture you painted. It looks soft and squishy! Same with the sweet bits of gooey blueberry!

Thank you. Yeah, Icing is really tough. Sometimes I manage, sometimes I don't. I usually have a lot of trouble with textures that are very light and not really saturated enough.
