Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I got sick and have been mostly sleeping. This is very stiking image and I like how you tackled the background. This is kind of a loose style so I'd like to see a couple areas simplified. At the bottom of the image where the hair runs off the page could end much sooner and I think the composition would benefit. The line for the bottom of the jaw and the outline of the neck could be cleaner and handled with fewer brush strokes. The same could be said for the eyebrow as well.  My last critique is that the light seems inconsistent in some places. Were you working from a color photograph perhaps? I ask because the far said of the face is a light value but the shadow under the nose makes me expect it to be a harsh dark shadow. Then if I look at the ear that most inner part is very bright in value and not catching much of a cast shadow. The light source appears to be above our subject and to the right a little so I expect the brightest values to be closest to that light except where we get specular highlights in some places but if you look at her chin she has some brights in there that aren't highlights that are brighter than the values on her forehead. If I cover everything up but the mouth area it looks fine. If I cover up only the mouth area it looks fine but seen together they aren't working well as a team. Anyways, I hope this was of some help.  I checked out the rest of your gallery and you're doing cool stuff. Keep up the hard work! P.S.-Didn't post this as an official crit as I feel like I had to rush this a bit. If you ever want a crit just send me a message and I'll get to it when I have time.

Thank you very much for taking some time to review this. I see what you mean with the light source. I used a reference, it was b&w, but it was a studio photo and sometimes in these cases artists use multiple light sources and reflections. I am not blaming the material I used, but sometimes I don't really understand how many light sources there are in the picture. I am not great at discerning which shadow to emphasize and which to ignore or make lighter. Thank you very much for your critique.  I will put it to good use.

No problem. I try to help out other artists whenever I can. Yeah studio/fashion photography is really confusing as far as light sources. They tend to obliterate shadows with lots of light sources and reflectors. Sometimes you might think an area is a little darker when it's more of a color shift, etc.

Awww... I was just thinking yesterday how I liked out collaboration and the challenge of it. I think we should try doing more of those later.
