I took a look at your profile, just to see how you work now. I agree with you and believe anyone can be good at drawing if they practice, so I'm glad to hear you are willing to work hard and have already seen progress. The first thing I would recommend to you - seeing how you prefer cartoonish styles at this time - is to try to draw using references. At first you will probably find it a bit difficult to draw something really different from the picture, but don't worry, at some point you will master shapes and textures. Then your creativity will show through and you will be able to improvise based on the look of the object in the picture. Many people use references and I make no exception. Start by trying to replicate the reality of a picture, and you will soon progress to creating completely new and realistic drawings of your own.
Then, it's important to choose a medium that suits you. I see you work mostly in pencil now, although you seem to have some digital attempts too. Learn the software you are using well enough to creatively turn it to your advantage. Master layer, clipping masks and shading. I obtain most of my textures by combining brush features and multiply layers. You can also have a look at the tutorials I have made - or rather, step by step drawing processes. Those already give you some information you could use.
