Andrewsarchus, an extinct creature of the Eocene period, was possibly the largest carnivorous land mammal ever, known only from a single fossil skull found in Mongolia. Initially, it was believed to be a type of mesonychid, however recent studies have indicated it may have been an artiodactyl, making it related to entelodonts, which would give it a more boar like structure with a head much larger in proportion to it's body.
I've seen this animal often depicted as wolf-like in appearance, but I decided, for mine, to build it up a bit more like a monstrous wild boar. I put him at the beach as its been postulated that andrewsarchus used its large teeth to break the shells of sea turtles for food.

I think chances are that it would’ve had mostly naked skin like other large ungulates.

I’ve heard they were second cousins to Ambulocetus.

It looks more like an entelodont. AKA the hellpig or terminator pig. Still interesting though.

That fellow answers a ancient question that all human beings make at least once in life:
Werewolves may be wolves who transform into humans, or humans who transform into wolves; there is shamans in South America who transform into jaguars and old women in fisher villages who change into pigs at night to eat their neighbor's chickens, and the Nagual Juan Matus taught his disciple Carlos Castaneda how to transform himself in a Crow. Why is always a human side in the mixture ??
Humans are just another animal specie, so if beings from one specie can change into another why crocodiles do not became camels in the full moon? Why cranes do not change into buffaloes and salmons into pumas under the same circumstance ? And what would like a half-pig half-wolf?

Somehow this giant saber-toothed boar looks more badass than the giant wolf-like Mesonychid we got in Walking With Beasts.

Beautiful work! A giant boar-thing is quite a bit scarier than 'just a big wolf'... especially to anyone whose hunted both!

I thought it was a wild boar at first, though it's ironic since Entelodonts are partially related to pigs.
