Description
What does it mean? When I do these, they are typically a social commentary of some sort.
First the title, “Lost Souls”. Who are these lost souls? The plural form is intentional.
At the top, a dark skyline of a city or society full of churches in various states of condition. We see the darkness and the blood stain of choices on the churches. There is darkness all along the city except what little light comes from the buildings. Everyone stays close to themselves to avoid being stain by others. The city or society is essentially dead and lifeless. It has lost whatever made it alive.
Traveling down the page we come to a gray expanse of no man’s land. Dead and virtually a lifeless void. Death is imagined on both sides of an untraveled road that leads to a barbwire fence. On one side a graveyard of ideas and thoughts. On the other, the remnants of a forest and mother earth.
A fence has only two purposes. One is either to keep something in. Or, the second to keep something undesirable out. Which is it? The fence is broken and in need of repair, but does it matter anymore? No one cross the boundary.
At the bottom of the page, color and life starts to return to the world that we are walking through. We see a nude woman sitting next to a fire. She is alone and vulnerable. However, she is alive, warm, and content. Who or what is she? She has turned against the city or society.
