Description
Augraks are aquatic monsters that live in the deepest and darkest parts of the ocean floor. Due to being submerged in darkness for generations, their eyes are pure white and have long since ceased to work, leaving them to detect prey via ocean currents.

Augraks are only slghtly smaller than giant squid, but their tentacles are fewer in number and thinner, making them only ideal for swimming, not for grabbing. Even so, Augraks are very dangerous, and only part of that danger is because of their long toothy maws.

Augraks are highly radioactive, which has stumped marine biologists and chemists alike. The cellular structure of Augrak does not seem to be affected by its own radiation, and it does not emit any particles, but the whole body seems to constantly emit intense amounts of gamma radiation. The radiation given off by Augrak is enough to kill a human in close proximity (provided the human is within touching range of Augrak for 5-10 minutes) and is definitely enough to injure most small creatures in a very short time span. If a larger entity comes close enough to Augrak and succumbs to the radiation, Augrak will attack it, killing it wth physical blows and deadly mutagens alike.

It is hypothesized that the gamma radiation decay in Augrak is a natural process (however that works) and is directly controleld by its body. This claim has been supported by several events, such as the killing of an Augrak and the almost instantaneous stoppage of gamma emission. Until more is known about the nature of Augrak and how best to defend against it, deep sea diving is highly discouraged.
