Honestly, just scribble the shading. xD don't outline first and then fill it in or anything... Just... scribble! that's what I do!

So that's how you do pixel art using photoshop, lol. I've always used MS Paint. sotimeconsuming.

Awesome, thank you. o: I always use Multiply, and I do have trouble with the darker colors. I'm glad I read this tutorial, I never thought about mixing Multiply and Overlay with one another.

Duude, Darkie art is already < 333
Yep, dark colors get killed with multiply, and light colors don't show up with overlay. if you use #000000 with overlay, it just shows up as a dark-ish grey, so it's wonderful to use with REALLY dark colors.

I could do all of this in PSP9, though some of the tools may differ.
Multiply/ overlay/ soft light/ luminance (legacy) options= LOVE.

Yep, when I saw your tutorial thing on Youtube, I was suprised at how much alike PSP is to PS. xD
Yep! Overlay is what I also use to give it that "soft" effect when I add a glow to something...
