Description ...UHF TV station in Australia, SBS Melbourne.

I got the idea from a book called the "TV Repair Guide" (7th edition) by Edward A Campbell, of which had a test card of America's oldest UHF TV station, WSBT, which started broadcasting on December 21, 1952.
So I decided to commemorate Australia's oldest UHF TV station, SBS Melbourne.
SBS originally started in Sydney and Melbourne on Australian VHF TV Channel 0 (zero), and they moved to UHF TV Channel 28.
To the best of my knowledge, SBS started broadcasting in Melbourne on October 24, 1980, because it had several ethnicities, and this analog station will be shut down on December 10, 2013; so we will bid farewell to Australia's oldest UHF TV station.
Why SBS did not start broadcasting on a UHF channel at first is because there were not enough TV sets in use at the time with a UHF tuner (VHF-only sets can receive UHF channels with a UHF converter or VCR with a UHF tuner). Some, but not all of the early colour TV sets had UHF tuners fitted when colour TV started broadcasting in Australia in 1975.

SBS serves their citizens, including migrants (mainly through foreign news programmes), and also broadcasts open-captioned foreign language TV shows.
