Description
Oh, Aeon Flux and Trevor Goodchild. You are always getting into trouble.I am really annoyed at this picture because I'm having a DAMN hard time figuring out how you convey depth and volume with a fluid. I really ought to take more art classes. I did shade it, and even remembered to put Aeon's shadow on the glass, but now I'm feeling like i ought to have done a reflection too since GLASS and argh, there are many things about this picture I could not figure out how to do right!
Why do it all then, you ask? Why, because I promised I would for this year's Bro-Fist calendar. I'm not entirely sure Aeon and Trevor would bro-fist, but they would totally tongue-kiss to trade secret information while fighting each other with guns, if they were both on the same side of that glass.

Reflection is probably the main way to show depth within a fluid... have a little bit of Aeon's reflection on the surface of it, and then, where you have the lines to show ripples, make them highlights instead of lines (white or a paler shade of the fluid color. Then you'd still do shading on the floor, but it'd be underneath the highlights layer, so then people get a clear idea of both the top and bottom of your liquid volume.
That being said, this is an awesome picture! You picked a challenging pose in an even more challenging setting, I like it.

Oh, that's such good advice!! Thank you, I'll definitely have to try that next time! (Or maybe update this one in a few weeks...right now I don't have time!)
I'm so happy for the help, seriously, you made my day!
