Description
To Dimples Bratt, the men in the next room were moving in slow motion. Their shocked faces, eyes wide, were still turning as she stepped through the smoke and dust of the small explosion.
"This iz for pie lady fuckerz!" Dimples snarled, driving the kitchen knife deep into a gangsters back while he was still turning, she jerked the blade up, piercing the heart then released the handle and grabbed the dying thug around the neck.
"Thankz for the coverz asshole" Dimples whispered in his ear as he looked at her from the corner of his eye in horror for a moment before the lack of a working heart killed him.
Dimples held him up by sheer strength, interposing him between her and his friends. She felt the impacts of their fire smash into him as she took aim, began to return fire.
"You iz already deadz...time to lie downz and smellz the coffee" Dimples laughed. At this range, she would have to try hard to miss, but she maintained her discipline, she only had one gun, fifteen rounds and eight targets, and so each round claimed a life.
The gangsters stood their ground, bullets flying, but Dimples remained safe behind her shield of cooling dead flesh and bone. She heard the first clicks as guns ran dry, focused on the guys still firing first.
Finally, the shooting stopped, one gang member remained standing and he threw his gun down and held his hands up. "Don't shoot...I fucking surrender" he pleaded, eyes wide.
Dimples motioned him to a couch. "Sitz" she ordered him coldly. The guy did as he was told, eyes wide. When he thought Dimples couldn't see, his hand slipped down the back of the couch, gripped the handle of the gun he knew was hidden there.
"Fully loaded little girl...I am going to fucking end you" he thought to himself, waiting for his moment.
Dimples gave him a steady look, then smiled widely. She turned away, letting the bullet riddled corpse she held drop to the floor, checking the rest of her targets were finished. Seeing his chance the gangster went for it, gun swinging up. He felt the impact, heard the shot, gazed at Dimples where she crouched, having dropped, turned and shot faster than he would have believed possible, then gazed at his ruined hand.
"Nice try, but failz. Do notz pass go, do notz collect $200" Dimples fired again, the bullet smashed the gangster backward, blood spouting from the severed artery in his neck.
Dimples had already turned to smile at Books drone. "Clear" she called out happily.
Books shook her head, smiling. She continued to climb the stairs, reviewing Dimples performance as she went.
It would be wrong to call her older sister brutal, but my god she was direct. Far stronger than Sugar and almost as fast, Dee was like a tidal wave of destruction when she wanted to be. She just rolled over anything that got in her way.
Despite her , Books paused, despite her what? How would she put this? She thought for several moments, then nodded and continued typing.
Despite the childlike persona she occupied most of the time, Dimples ability to function, no to excel in combat was amazing. Her aim was uncanny, she hit everything she aimed at first time, and usually it was one shot, one kill.
Well, usually. Books frowned as she saw reached the floor Dimples was on and found one gang member still alive. he had been shot twice, leg and shoulder, clearly Dee's work. Why was he still breathing? A mistake, an oversight?
They guy looked at her, face pale and body shaking. He was loosing a lot of blood, mainly from his shoulder. He had his hand pressed against the wound, trying to stem the blood flow.
"H...he..lp...me" he gasped weakly. Books gazed at him without emotion for a moment, then shrugged and moved on, after kicking any weapons close to him out of his reach. She would ask Dee about him once the job was finished. She ignored his feeble cries for help, walked away and continued her review of Dimples performance.
Dee had mastered every weapon thrown her way, and somehow despite the confusion in her head she had a keenly developed tactical understanding. There was no arguing the fact, Books plan brought them to the stadium, but Dimples called the plays when the game was on. And she was damn good at it too.
With a gun, there was no doubt in Books mind that Dimples was by far the more lethal of her sisters. But despite her strength and reflexes, despite her natural killing instinct, and much to Books amazement, it appeared that when it came to fighting with blades Dee was second best.
Books watched the final drama unfold in the loft, and wondered why it had come as such a surprise to find that at close range, Sugar was the deadliest Bratt of all.

You'd figure after that bloodbath Dee would be the most lethal of the Bratts. Im curious to see what scene Books catches Suger in to suggest otherwise. Though, wouldn't you think Books would be the most dangerous? I mean in a Batman/JLA sense she would have contingencies against the sisters just incase cause she knows their strengths and weaknesses?
Anyway, rambling when I should say great new chapter

Dee is more dangerous at range for sure.
But with a blade in hand, Sugar is deadlier...ofc its the difference between a Cobra and an Anaconda so the end result for their opponents is usually bad
As for Books having contingencies against her sisters...interesting thought, but as Dee pointed out in First Date, even Books can miss the obvious or make assumptions

That'd be an interesting tale to tell: Books planning for the worst one day.

Books always plans for the worst
But she has never considered a need to plan against her sisters, due to the bond they share. Who knows, maybe Dee's words will cause her to rethink that stance
