Where was this taken? I see the ball now, but what is with the dark overlay at the top?
And just for future reference, you might not want to ask for advanced critique if you didn't even "try" on the shot. Just an idea.

It was at an outdoor basketball court. The dark at the top is the trees showing above the wall (the light part). Yeah, I shouldn't have left it at advanced critique. I have that set as my default and just didn't think to change it. Thanks for your thoughts though.

400 TMax film with a Canon Rebel 2000. I played around with the contrast in Photoshop because scanning tends to mess up my photos.

Since you've requested advanced critique, I have a lot to say.
First of all, when shooting sporting events, it's ideal to at least get the ball in the picture. Not having it in there totally takes away the purpose of even having the shot unless something spectacular is happening, which I don't see in this picture nor have I seen in many.
The depth of field is really hurting this shot too. What was your focal length? It would have been so much nicer and cleaner if everything, but your sister was slightly out of focus.
Lastly, what kind of camera are you using and what were your settings for this game?

Thanks for the critique, but I wasn't really trying with this shot. I didn't pay attention to the camera settings. My mom asked me to take a bunch of pictures, and I wasn't really intending to use them for my own purposes, but I liked this one, so I decided to use it. The ball actually is in the shot, but it kind of blends into the background, which I didn't like, but couldn't really do anything about.
