I missed and love painting these type of characters, i'm going to try to create two images like this one every week.My rendition of the l4d boomer.

That sounds kinda awesome, i like that.
It does to me i guess look much gritter then the official depiction of the l4d infected.

yeah the hard brushes seem tricky to me, i tried to place down some lines of a low flow, some how stood out like a sore thumb

weel try to lower the opacity to 50%
And the Flow to 10-6%

I did try something around that number and it still stood out, the problem is that all the layers i used were soft brush painted, they're all quite transparent. I will try pretty much what you mentioned at the very start of my next picture. I feel maybe i need to put the crisper details first and the blend after it may work. We'll see what happens, and hopefully i can pull it off. xp

Na, that was the easy part actually lol.
The hard part was define all the bubbles so they wouldn't look like one big cluster of shiny blurs.
The surface details that you see were the hardest part, longest to render too.
