ps: Any scanning tips? Turned out grainy, and despeck~ling made the details too blurred.

This is very sweet. I never know where to start with landscapes and buildings. You've done a great job. Amazing detail again and nice composition with the trees and foliage in the foreground.

I'm very flattered by the compliments (especially given how beautiful your portraits are! A different subject, but your talent is way beyond what I'm currently capable of!)! There are perspective issues galore in this one, but it was a good way to get some feelings off my chest, so it served its purpose.

Yeah but I don't believe all art should be about technical accuracy, sometimes the most beautiful pieces are more about the feelings they evoke than anything else

I think that's a wonderful sentiment, and I agree! I've always been somewhat choosy when it comes to fav'ing works on dA, but as of late, I feel even more picky. There are so many gorgeous pieces of art around this site, that it's come to the point where I find myself fav'ing more pieces that have an emotion or story involved, rather than only what looks pretty.
Although, of course I'm guilty of simply eating up eye candy, too.

Thank you for the comment! I was lucky enough to get a new scanner just a week back, so here's hoping future scans will go more smoothly

So glad you liked it! I considered doing a related illustration featuring that same little girl, but we'll see.

I'm sure there's some kind of "drawing" that you can do well with, just so long as you practice! Even if you want to try playing with colors - there are some gorgeous abstracts around dA!

amazing detail once again !!
haha i coudl only imagine how nice it'd look if you used bigger paper xP
as for the graininess
most likely it was from you smudging the pencil [[i think thats what you used haha]] when you were drawing .. if not then you can easily fix that on photoshop
i normally just up the contrast and if theres more that needs to be done i just go in and pain whatever gainy parts white/black
as for the house .. i really think it's maazing if anything just make sure your lines are straight in the windows and the pillars
and be careful about perspective .. the chimney second to the left seems to be going a different direction than the rest

Working with detail is very new for me. All of the stuff in my gallery from before, say, a month or so ago is really simple. xD So it's a recent development that I've gotten somewhat hooked on.
And thank you, especially, for the tips on the quality and scanning. I definitely think, judging by your comment and some others, that it might really add up to me being a messy artist, haha. I'll go with the sheet under the hand next time.
Thanks again!

haha yea.. XD
but its very much appreciated and good ~~
i can never or very rarely work with a lot of detail.. i'm impatient haha
and its not really you being messy. the oil from your hand smears pencil [[ which is why if you ever want to blend .. just use your finger !! ]]

Thanks, aerinne! !
Haha, and that's okay. I'm kind of glad to know I'm not the only one who sucks when it comes to random tech-related knowledge.

Oh, very detailed work...you have great patience!
The scanner always is a problem...some DA friends advised me to work the darks and contrast a bit over with photoshop...but I am not a computerman, so I did not try it (yet)
If you have photoshop, give it a try.............
Anyway, NICE to see you on the works again...has been quiet for a time...good to have you back

I'm not too familiar with photoshop either, but I'm trying to learn! Your portraits always look nicely scanned to me, though.
And ty! I have a picture I've been working on bit by bit over the last few weeks. Wish there were more hours in the day!

Hi,
Good to hear your art-blood is still flowing in the right direction...
Be careful you donΒ΄t get caught by it...when I start a new work and it catches me I often work on it till 3.00 in the morning...this summer I noticed the sun was coming up a few times, then it was 4.30....
be warned....!
