Description
Vietnamese coffee in an adorable cafe in Hoi An.I owe my friends (and the waitresses) a lot of thanks for giving me the time to play around with the setup of their food and plates before they were done eating.
No digital editing on this one, save for size.

Until now, I've avoided sharing photos from my time in Japan (and other Asian countries) because I didn't want to treat dA like my facebook account. There was so much natural beauty and exoticism for the Western eye around me. So many of the photos took themselves; it felt awkward taking credit for the charm in them.
B~ut, some dA friends asked me to post them around here, so I've been digging through my collection and looking for those that were more than quick snapshots.
Hope some of you can enjoy these little peaks of Asia!

Nice. The bright colours make it look interesting.

I'm afraid I can't remember the exact name of the foods... One had been some kind of fried rice paper drizzled in a sweet sugar glaze (I think!).

Yes, I did, and it was such a beautiful country! I met many kind people, and even made friends with a girl who was studying English in Hanoi.
The food and drinks were so delicious. I couldn't afford a souvenir, because I used all of my money on food. My favorite was some kind of dessert made of rice and coconut (I can't remember the name..).

made of rice and coconut? and for dessert? maybe it's "chè" (sweet soup). There are many things made of rice and coconut here
Anyway, hope you'll be back VN soon ^^

Chè sounds very familiar - that may be it!
And I definitely want to come visit there again! Thank you for the kind words.

Wow. This looks like it came straight out of a travel or cooking magazine. The focus is fantastic, and the setup is very professional-looking.

I know very little about handling cameras, but in uni I had to take my own stock photos for an advertising/magazine course. Ever since, if I spot something that would have screamed out, "USE ME!" for that class, I'll usually put more effort into the shot rather than do my typical point-and-click (in this case, it was the plates and stone table combo).
S~o, in summary, I'm really happy that you said that because that was the quality I was going for.

It's interesting the way little things like that can stick with you for your whole life.
Anytime! The effort you put into the shot really shows.

Now that I never tried. Something to add to my to do list the next time I'm in that part of the world. Sadly, my hometown area that I'm in now is pretty bad when it comes to anything but Italian food.

Oh, well then I guess I'm lucky my area of the US is ethnically diverse haha. Thai Iced Tea is another thing to try!
And Italian food is fantastic, I love me a good pizza or sandwich.
