Description subject: deviantID card template
software: adobe photoshop CS3

This is my first .psd sharing here in dA.
I created a 3D card to be my deviantart ID, so I wanted to share with all of you.

The .psd is preformatted with levels tou can customize, including your picture, your informations, and so on.

I have included a font file eather. There is a simple README file with instructions on how to install it. Please read it before editing the .psd.

The .zip file containing this stuff sizes almost 10MBs.
The ID card template is 1800x900 pixels large [high quality!].

Enjoy!

DX I can't believe this.
I downloaded the file, extracted and opened in Photoshop 7, and there was only one layer. Dammit.

I have created it with photoshop CS3.
I guess that PS7 it too much old to be used still...

I've got CS3, couldn't be bothered installing it haha ^^''. I used to clone stamp to delete the text and replaced it with my own. Had to use distort and perspective though haha.
It's a pretty handy peice though, definately going to use it ^^/

ok, i feel stupid, but when you're editing the template in ps, it asks for the lens (what type of lens you use). i know that's for the camera, but what does it mean by lens?
is that like the lens' shutter speed or f number or focal length?

(i'm sorry, this is a really dumb question... but i'm getting very confused. haha)

oh and btw, i love this template, it's professional and nice and neat!

Which version of Photoshop are you using?
I made it with Photoshop CS3, and I re-opened my template right now with Photoshop CS3 [I didn't use it in the last year], and it didn't ask me anything about the lens to use..
Confused..

oh it's alright, it was on one of the text layers, it was "type of lens you use".
i figured it out, but thanks!

(and i'm using CS4 extended. but i still get the same template. i was just asking you what a lens for the camera was. haha, no need to answer though!)

sorry for bothering you!

You didn't bother, don't you worry
I didn't remember I named a layer that way... it's also a bit a fault of mine.. hehehe..

Wo great service for the community - and also with a free license - respect!

Unfortunately I am using GIMP on a GNU/Linux OS and the emulation of Photoshop in Wine isnt the best choice for me.

Any chance to get it as xcf one day?

deviantdark In reply to deviantistess [2009-04-07 17:42:47 +0000 UTC]

I am very sorry for this.
I wasn't so able to use the GIMP when I created this template with Photoshop, so I had to release it in .psd.
And now I have also lost the basic .psd template [not the one I have uploaded here], which I cuold use to convert the .psd in .xcf.
And I don't have so much time anymore to begin the job from zero.
Sorry..

Well, I do agree with you... the dA page doesn't allow to insert a bigger ID.
So sorry I have lost the original .psd [the one wthout the 3D look], it could have been a great resource.
