How Erika And Jake First Met.

Erika rested her head against the window as her sight wandered aimlessly outside the window. Raindrops descended from the dark sky. The bus she was on halted abruptly and her body lurched forward involuntarily.

A young man climbed up into the bus, joining the rest of the passengers. Once he had entered the bus, the driver stepped on the gas and the bus traveled along the road once again. His hair was damp and his clothes were soaked as a result of being out in the rain. His eyes immediately scanned the interior of the bus, searching for an empty seat as he dragged himself across the bus. He spotted Erika and noticed that there was nobody sitting next to her, so, he approached her and a question emerged from his mouth, "Is this seat empty?"

Erika cast a glance at him, gathered the two plastic bags filled with goods of hers and placed them on her lap to give the young lad some space. "Yeah," she replied.

"Thanks."

For a short while, silence wafted in the air inside the bus with the exception of the humming of the bus' engine. The young man, not wanting their conversation to end in such a brief lapse of time, turned towards Erika and with a smile, he said, "I'm Jake, by the way."

Erika diverted her gaze from the view outside and looked at Jake. She gave him a sweet smile and told him, "I'm Erika. Pleased to meet you, Jake."
