Awesome pattern! ...now I feel the urge to weave something as complicated as this.

I feel confident you could handle it...not as difficult as it looks! Your gallery is full of beautiful things!

Thanks! Well... I could say that I am professional 'cause I have education for it. But yeah, I haven't had time to do anything "challenging" in a very long time...

absolutely beautiful. Don't you love working with silk? Most of my work is with 2-ply wool (30 epi), but if I had the money, I'd use silk all the time.

Thanks! Silk is great, this is already mixed with the cashmere and with the cotton. I do have quite a bit of 60/2 natural silk that is wanting attention...along with a studio stash of many other nice things, among them some 2-ply wool! Sigh...so many ideas, so few hours in the day!

Ain't that always the way. I have three floor looms, two of them in the process of being warped, and one fully warped with a piece in process, and I'm not finding the time to get to any of them. Most commonly I weave Scottish tartan scarves and dancing sashes, but I've been known to branch out to other things as well. The piece that's currently in process is the most challenging piece I've ever woven, with a centered pattern using tablets for the pattern, but plain weave borders. Unfortunately, the pattern is such (x-rated) that the people who see the final product won't realize just how challenging it was, and the weavers who do understand, won't like the pattern.

Three floor looms here, also, all three warped with pieces in process. The one at home gets the quickest results and the most attention...after long days at work it's hard to get to the studio! 4 table looms also, for test pieces and teaching purposes. 👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Would love to see other things you've created, including the x-rated one!...my brain just won't wrap around tablet weaving, though I can do an overshot double cloth on 12 harnesses!

Sitting at my loom, even now after doing it for 30+ years, it always feels like a miracle that all these individual threads become fabric at my hands. If I can get a decent shot of the x-rated piece, I'd be glad to send it to you, but probably won't put it on line. (It wouldn't meet dA's standards.)
