Actually, it IS mink yarn...I am still researching it. Very soft, smooth, very strong lace weight knitting yarn. Quite old from my stash, was gifted to me. I expected some strong comments about the fiber, but got none, so far. I am wondering if the fiber is laboriously combed from each animal, as others are? Still working on this...
Thanks again for looking and commenting...hope all is well!

My experience with mink (a friend raised them in pens when we were teenagers) makes me wonder how anyone would have the patience to collect their "wool." They are a relatively short haired animal, and very vicious.

I think I am frightened to find out how the "gathering" is accomplished. As noted, I did not purchase the yarn, it is quite old, and I do not plan to buy any more, even if I find out the process (price is astronomical). I do not want to be part of actual harm to animals if I can help it (though I am not a vegetarian...I wear leather...oh well, too much for my mind this morning). So many concerns to think about! )
