Description
To see the real thing with music and extra bells and or whistles click here [link]This was done for a production of Sweeney that'll be on in the Warwick Arts Centre in 2008. This version sucks massively because it is without music (I tried embedding but then the file's massive) and there are some external swf's missing from the final menu page. If anyone knows how I can include all that stuff twould be much appreciated.
The work was inspired by Saul Bass' movie intros, especially Psycho, and also by the Catch Me If You Can opening credits which are themselves Bass inspired. He really was an original #flasher in the best possible sense of the word. The reason I chose this direction was that the Depp/Burton Todd had already done a more conventional flash site and I knew I couldn't beat them at that game. Check theirs out by all means [link] (Hilarious that the .com address is owned by a small time barbers [link] so the big studios had to settle for sweeneytoddmovie.com). It is a good example of the genre (interactive scene based websites) but I hope that mine is a touch more original.
Please do critique it thoroughly, though only after you've seen it with music. [link]
P.S. In a moment of boredom I added a little Easter Egg that fans of 70's cop shows may find entertaining. Its on the final page in the O. It'll only work on the non-DA version.

I watched this with music on the arts centre website and... Fantastic work!
It's just like a Saul Bass intro with a lethal modern twist! Colours work fantastically. I'm just really impressed. You're a craftsman with Flash.

AMAZING STUFF! So impressed, really! It's got a lovely threatening but slick feel to it, and quite frankly I fell about laughing through the Sweeney mick-take. I only wish there was more on it, but I appreciate little descriptions needed when the Depp, Burton and Carter team are about to hollywood it.
