Description He lives in my garden,
I'm the only one who sees.
His steely gaze stays hardened,
Until he hides and flees.

Sometimes he plays me panpipes,
And songs about beautiful things.
It's as if he comes and swipes,
The wind from under my wings,
And lets me earthward plummet,
While a sweet ballad he sings.

Sometimes he'll find a creature,
All caught up in a snare.
He'll crouch down and release her,
And then pretend he was never there.

But I know where he's been walking,
Even though, he has the lightest tread.
And I know to who he's been talking,
Despite the fact they've long since fled.
His coal black coat and horns,
And obsidian hooves and claws,
Are but the jewels to adorn,
The king without any flaws.

Knight of the night,
Dancer in the day.
Ready to fight the good fight,
And lead the hunters astray.

Guardian of the woodland,
Overseer of the oaks.
Ready to make a stand
Against the smoke on which he chokes.
Each night he screams and roars,
And flails and claws and kicks.
But it doesn't stop the saws,
Making new matchsticks.
