In every book or film or game,Doesn't matter it's all the same.
I can't help but feel the blame,
When my favorite character dies.
Whether it's Hughes in the gutter,
Or Aerith on her knees.
Whether it's some random guy
Whose head exploded when he sneezed.
My favorite character dies.
This event usually occurs,
a day or so
After I speak these fatal words
'That's my favorite character!'
That's it,
They're jinxed,
There's no escape
From their inevitably cruel fate.
It's usually brutal,
And it's rarely quick,
There's blood all over the screen,
Like some god awful horror flick.
And my favorite character dies.
I don't know why,
Or what god I ticked off.
All I know is they die
And I've had enough.
So I sit here angrily,
Compiling obituaries for animes,
Counting gravestones in games
And avoiding Game of Thrones altogether.
