Realization comes slowly,
As the euphoria retreats.
I've always been quite lonely,
As My supply of friends depletes.
Now I stand here solitary,
A thousand meters off the ground,
Ignoring all that's derogatory
And the sensation of being drowned.
In the centre of a crossroads,
Riding on a carousel.
The colours merge and explode
Every direction leads me deeper into hell.
Uncertainty strikes deeply,
With the freezing affect of fear,
Mountains to climb rise steeply,
And the pain from old scars sears.
With ever step I sink deeper,
Into this muddy swamp of doubts.
Can't let myself go under,
But still can't find anyway out.
Gagging as I'm overpowered,
And dragged beneath sludge.
Thrashing while I'm overwhelmed,
Never saying enough is enough.
