Some people find comfort,
When they look at the stars,
But to me they remind me of you,
And hurt like swallowing glass shards.

I used to look up,
Wishing on the lights,
But now I struggle not to tear up,
And be consumed by the night.

It was cruelty that killed her,
Under the name of a malicious God.
Then they wonder why I refuse to bow,
And by sheeple down trod.

They whisper their insults,
Because they're scared I will hear.
They think I deny the one they exalt
Out of some cowardly fear.

It is not fear,
But with contempt I deny
My soul to a god
Who would goad my friend to die.

And for what?
Because she loved women?
Is love so wrong
Just because they can't bear children?

I spit on you god,
Your sins are too great.
I'll stride into hell,
Bow to cerberus as I go through the gate.

I'll take my chances with the devil,
Who fell from your grace,
Because even saying you name,
Leaves me with such a bitter taste.
