Words have more power than some people see,
While paintings have brush strokes,
Our pictures are tapped out on keys.
Some words are accepted even though they don't fit,
And personally I still can't abide it.
Why do we 'lose' a virginity?
Or 'fall' in love?
Why not 'gain' unity
Or take our passion 'up' and 'above'?
Why do we compare coming together for the first time,
As losing some immortalized state?
Why compare love to something that makes items
Shatter and break?
Why are these interrupting verbs,
destroying the meaning of these words?
