(The map above is set in 1958, two years before World War III)The Maple War (1931-1933)
On February 1st, 1931 President Herbert Hoover turned down a proposal from Congress to declare war on Canada in order to increase defense spending. Congress establishes a plot with vice president Charles Curtis to assassinate Hoover.
After President Hoover is shot down by undercover agents during his visit to the Canadian embassy, Carl Curtis is sworn into office and declares war on Canada. The national debt is lifted, with the rise of employment for the war effort.
Headlines report Canada's failed attempt at destroying the nation's government from the inside out, and that Canadian bootleggers were financing the Canadian invasion of America.
With an overwhelming 100% approval from the Supreme Court the United States invades Canada. Canada is a dominion to the British empire, the most powerful nation in the world. It will be a true struggle to defeat thee Canadians, or 'Maples' as they're called.
The Americans launch a sneak attack on the British Royal Navy stationed in Bermuda. With majority of the Atlantic fleet decimated the United States may begin its conquest of Canada.
American pilots return from Bermuda to the east coast of Canada, blockading trade from Europe. From the south American troops from Maine invade the Maritime provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Within one week the Atlantic seaboard is secured.
The Canadians commence Defense Scheme Number 1, attacking the city of Seattle. To the east the Americans have captured Ontario, and besieging Quebec. Quebec nationalists are far more rebellious and resistant to American occupation, accounting for one third of American fatalities.
After the failure to capture Seattle the Canadian army pushes north to Alaska. With the British fleet blockading american reinforcements in Alaska, the territory falls to the Maples. The Alaskan Governor surrenders, and Alaska becomes a province of Canada.
The March to Anchorage began, with thousands of troops deployed west into British Columbia. After the dreadful battle of Vancouver in October 1932, the Americans very easily liberated Alaska shortly afterwords. After the capture of Alaska, a ceasefire is made.
The Treaty of London ended all hostilities. The United States annexed all of former Canada, including Newfoundland and Labrador, in exchange for America's Pacific territories to be ceded to the British.
The war was seen as a giant victory for the US, trampling the greatest power in the world. The British saw this treaty as a betrayal to their Canadian brethren, with political and civil turmoil across the empire.
After the war Canadians were promised citizenship into the United States after four years of enforced labor. Canadians were forced to wear Maple Leaf badges in public to identify as labor force for the United States.
World War II (1939-1943)
With the British homeland diminished of pride and willpower the British are of no threat to the Hitler's conquest of Europe. With the British Royal Air Force severely weakened and British citizens less confident in their government Great Britain was suitable for conquest. Hitler sent troops into Britain in September 1940, promising the fascist rebels independence if they sided with his army. With the British distracted by the war in their backyards British troops were deployed from colonies in Africa and Asia to Europe in order to defend their rightful land.
With British Africa defenseless the Italians quickly captured Egypt, followed by Sudan and Uganda. With the Mediterranean secured Mussolini's invasion of Greece does not threaten the stability of Axis, as the British have no entryway into Europe. With the British defeat inevitable Francisco Franco joins Axis and captures Gibraltar, the last British outpost in mainland Europe.
The British crown surrenders in 1941, but a successor government called the Commonwealth defends the few remaining fragments of the empire from Nazi hands. The Japanese begin invading the Commonwealth colonies for resources, dismissing the claims by Germany and other members of Axis. Japan leaves Axis declares war on everybody.
The Americans and Soviets use Japan's instability to reclaim lost lands. The Americans acquire all of their former Pacific territories, including the German islands of Mariana and Caroline. The Soviets annexed Manchuria, Mongolia and Korea, acquiring Turkmenistan and Sakhalin after the peace treaty.
Post War(1944-1952)
After the war with Japan the Germans shifted their focus on acquiring territories they believed were reserved for themselves. The remnants of the Commonwealth located in Australia relinquished their ownership of New Guinea in exchange for peace. The Australian and New Zealand governments united into the Commonwealth of Australasia in 1945 to ensure protection of their freedom from outside invaders.
In the Americas German colonists claim the land of Guiana for themselves. Thy form an alliance with Argentina and Chile, two fascist nations in South America, with the goal of indoctrinating Brazil, creating a continental alliance. The United States intervenes and defends Brazil from the fascists, installing a puppet government for themselves. After over a decade of fighting a communist revolution sweeps Rio de Janeiro, establishing Brazil as a communist power, threatening the power of Argentina and the United States.
In 1951 Adolf Hitler falls down a flight of stairs, dying instantly. The title of Fuehrer, supreme ruler of Germany, is split between Chancellor Goebbels and President Karl Donitz. Nazi propaganda depicts Donitz as Jewish and responsible for Hitler's death, but before authorities could capture him he disappeared without a trace. He is Germany's most wanted, and the price on his head has caused adventurers and mercenaries alike to find him.
The Hun Plague (1953-1960)
German troops were stationed in Japan, prepared to fight the Soviets if necessary. After the disappearance of the German Cruise liner Glucklich over the Yellow Sea, the Germans declared war on China, a puppet of the USSR. Interestingly, German troops deployed in China encountered a mysterious disease which killed off exclusively blue eyed, blonde haired Aryans. Joseph Goebbels, the successor to Hitler, demanded the disease to be quarantined, and for the German Navy to abandon the troops. Unfortunately the disease spread through Chinese merchants, and soon the Third Reich was on the verge of collapse.
This disease, called the 'Hun Plague' turned the philosophy of the Nazi Party upside down, as the master race Aryan was no longer dominant to the rest of humanity: they were inferior. German colonies in Africa and Asia were quarantined, some seceding from the Reich in order to not be 'cleansed' in the gas chambers.
German scientists discovered the Plague to have been created artificially in a laboratory. With the Chinese government incapable of manufacturing this pathogen by themselves, all fingers point towards the Soviet Union. Outraged, the Nazis whip up a biological agent of their own to defeat the Soviets: a sterilization agent. This yellow gas, called Haze, causes infertility to the Russian crops and people. With a dwindling food supply and a decimated birth rate, the Soviet Union is soon on the verge of collapse. Peace talks fail, and World War III begins in 1960.
