You see me climbing. It's taken a long time for me to find the motivation to climb this mountain. You always thought I was too lazy; never had faith in me; didn't believe I could do it. I see it in the shocked look that is plastered over your face.

You try to follow me but your feet are cemented to the ground. You're not going anywhere and you know this. So you throw empty promises and dreams of forever at me; "I love you. I made the wrong decision. Please come back!" Even though your words tug at my heart strings, I'm no longer vulnerable enough to believe what you say. You've said it all before; everytime I began to climb, you'd pull me back down to your world.

I turn away from you and struggle on forward. The top of the mountain is in sight. I can do it. Without you, I chant to myself. And the best part is; I believe it.
