Description
The Alfar, or elves as the other races know them, are an ancient and proud race of magic and mystery.
But even though there are some known facts about them:

They have Pointed ears, and can reach an age of many Millennia if they don’t go to war or is taken by grief,

they are magically gifted, and have a unique spell-casting system: Galdr, or spell-songs that are written in runes. There are some known types of Galdr but we suspect that the Elves know many more,

Aria: a lone Spell-singer(sorcerer) sings only, the effect is not so great but if the singer is powerful then the number of singers will not matter.

Elegy/Lament: One or more Spell-singers sing songs of great sorrow or loss and it will have unknown effects on the listeners.

Mass: Ten or more singers sing from a book or other written form, is formidable and is often used in or before a war.

Types of Elves:

Winter Elves: Known as -The FrostBorn-, they live in the Continent of Gael. Cold valleys and frozen Mountains and are a secretive race.

Spell-singers: -Snow Lark-, mostly female elves but there are no known restriction to male acolytes.
Favoured instrument: Kantele: a Zither-like instrument with 5 to 7 strings mostly made from silver, brass or gut.
Has a soft bell-like sound.

Patron God/ess: Neve: The Goddess of Winter, Hunting and Sleep.

Dark Elves: Known as -The Mourners- , -The Exiled-, a Race that live underground in the deep mountains, there is rumoured that they live in a wast city deep down where no other race have gone...

Patron God/ess: Antiopa: Goddess of Sorrow, Rebirth and Destiny.

Spell-singers: -Nightingale- , Bards and Assassins, Mourners and Necromancers, they are beautiful and terrible.

Favoured instrument: Lyre, there are different types of lyres: some have 7 strings others have 10, made in brass, silver or gut.

Grey Elves: Known as -the Sylvans- , or Wood Elves live in the vast forest of Salicti where they are hard to study. the forest have Flora and Fauna of unthinkable nature, but there is no one that will enter the forest, for all those that do ,will go mad it is said. They also have an aversion to brass.

Spell-singers: -Swans- or -Blue Swans- is an all-female cult of Spell-singers named after the famed Elven heroine which sacrificed her life for her race.

Patron god/ess:

Favoured Instrument: Harp/Lyre with 10 to 22 strings made of silver, gold or gut.

Sea Elves: known as -Mer elves- , and -Singers of The Sea- not much is known about these Alfar but all we know are from Human folklore.
They live on an island of unknown whereabouts, they use magic to tame sea monsters and they have aquatic traits.

Patron God/ess: Muir: Goddess of the sea,

Spell-singers: -Storm Swallow- is named as the Sea elves Spell-singers but not much is known at this time.

Favoured Instrument: Ocarina, conch horn and Harp/lyre. The Ocarina is mostly made of clay but with the sea elves coral and other material is most likely.

High Elves: -The High-born- is an highly gifted race, be it with music, the arts, some legends say that they taught the humans to write and read and then was betrayed by the humans, so to save themself, they erected an magic wall over the hidden kingdom in which they lived. They are a pacifistic race that only kills when it is needed.

patron god/ess: Alegra: Goddess of Bliss and Mercy.

Spell-singers:”Bird of Paradise", not much is known except that they are master flute players.

Favoured instrument: Flutes/Pan flutes made of crystal, reed or wood

Age: (all elves)

When a elf has reach 2500 years of age they go into a deep slumber that lasts for the most 500 years, they do so to handle all they have learned in the thousands of years they have walked the realms.

when an elf has reach 3000 years of age they are imomortal and frozen in appearance, witch means that they do not change in term of facial features.

Fading:

When an elf has lost the will to live they wander off singing a song of unmatch beauty and sorrow and they stop at a place they deem right and will become waht they loved the

most in thier existent, take for example a wood elf she might become a tree of some sort or a sea elf may become a river close to the sea or something else, it depends on the elf in question.
