Description southeast alaska - ice from a glacier - this is the actual color of the ice. as it was explained to me, the color is so vibrant due to there being no air bubbles in this mass of ice. as the sunlight hits it, all wavelengths are absorbed except for blue. the unfathomable weight of the glacier and the length of time it was part of the glacier pushed all air out. so now we this absolutely stunning color provided by nature and time.
