Personality: When someone first meets Miriam, they see her as a cold and untrusting individual. This is actually a pretty accurate description where strangers are concerned. She is scathingly sarcastic, aloof and exceedingly stubborn. She doesn’t trust people easily and has few friends who can get past her cold exterior. However, she is insanely loyal to friends and can be courageous in a desperate situation.
She is extremely self-confident to the point of vanity, and it has gotten to her in trouble before. Miriam is fairly reckless and often acts before she thinks. She also has difficulty accepting authority when it is wielded with an iron fist.

History: Miriam was born into Old Money. She wanted for nothing in her life and she adored her mother, who was kind and gentle. Her father was stern, but compassionate. However, when Miriam was nine, a couple months after her younger brother was born, her mother left the house to go to the market and never returned. The following search turned up nothing but a few feral Pokémon. This led Miriam to hate Pokémon, as she believes that they are somehow deeply connected to her mother’s death.
After her mother’s disappearance, her father became stricter. Her grandparents, who had been a minor presence in her life before, came to live with the small family. Miriam’s grandmother was as overbearing as her father, and the house soon became stifling to the girl.
She admired her grandfather immensely. He had served in the Kanto Air Force before retiring to while away his days. He died peacefully when Miriam was 15, willing her his goggles and his officer’s cap, which she treasures.
When Miriam turned 19, her father began talking about marriage and she had had enough. She gathered together a small bag of personal effects, wished her brother well and left the house. She put in her application for the military the next day.

She aspires to become like her stolid grandfather, as well as show her father that she is more than a pretty china doll to be wed to the highest bidder.

Other Info:
- She is an accomplished fencer. However, she has never had a real sword fight, so her skill level in an unsafe environment is unknown
- She cannot read a map to save her life. God help her.
- She admires Military officers (especially in the Air Force) immensely, but refuses to show it
- She is actually very sheltered, despite what she thinks. Hopefully, being in the military will open her eyes
- Disgusted that Pokémon have to be a part of military service

Pokémon

Russell | Fearow | Hasty Nature | Keen Eye | Male
Russell was chosen as Miriam’s partner when she stated the she didn’t really care what she got, as long as it had wings. He is mean, hot-tempered and quick to violence. He grew up in a flock and took on all the qualities of an alpha spearow.
He has already given Miriam her first scar, where he viciously dug his talons into her forearm. Their relationship doesn’t look like it’ll be getting better anytime soon.

Upon his evolution, his mean streak escalated to frightening proportions. However, he started to listen to Miriam when he discovered that she had a few redeeming qualities (navigation not being one of them).
If he doesn't like the orders she gives, though, he'll be sure to let her know how much he dislikes them.

Bennie | Kirlia | Impish Nature | Trace | Male
Bennie took to being captured and trained like a fish to water. He was given to Miriam to help try and control Russel's heightening aggression towards allies. One of his few pleasures is messing with the larger and stronger fearow, even if it ends with him getting a few bumps and bruises in the process.
As a secondary bonus, his ability to communicate with Miriam might help her get over her extreme dislike of pokemon.

His evolution has provided Bennie with a much need power boost, as well as gaining some mental maturity. He has seen war and he doesn't like it. He doesn't understand it. And he wants nothing to do with it. However, he has bonded to Miriam quite soundly and refuses to leave her.

Odile | Froslass | Bold Nature | Snow Cloak | Female
Odile is a fully trained pokemon of war. She was reassigned to Miriam when her previous trainer was KIA. Unlike Russel, who is basically a wild pokemon and just mean, Odile is a highly sadistic ghost type with a mindset that the more humans she kills, the better.

The sole reason she hasn't attempted to turn on Miriam is that Bennie practically begged her not to. Odile took an instant (and almost psychotic) liking to the little ralts. She dotes on him, swearing to listen to the detestable human so long as Bennie wants her to.

Odette | Charizard | Jolly Nature | Blaze | Female
Assigned to Miriam after she lost the ability to fly planes, Odette is also a well suited solution to Odile. She is pure power and was brought up and trained for battle. She is also large enough to accommodate two passengers and is trained to keep the safety of her pilot first and foremost on her mind.

Unlike Odile, she loves people. To bits. Miriam experienced this first hand during their first training session. She discovered charizards are rather heavy.

Haha, so here’s my entry for End Run, a Pokémon original character tournament.

It was funny when I was in the middle of making her, I decided I should check out the generals. Her history turned out to be pretty similar to Evelyn, the Air Force general, which I thought was weird. I swear I didn’t copy her, it just sort of happened. At least Miriam has a different personality?

She has so much more back story, but I just gave the cliff notes version = u = I figure I should leave some of her a mystery so she can grow.

Also, I will hate myself because of her hair, necklace and Russell’s wings. Since I’ve decided to make all my Pokémon more “life-like” I can’t wimp out on easy wings >.>

I was also not meant to research history. My scientific brain imploded from information. It is so much mush.

Entry take 2: I was a bit sad that she was rejected at first, but then all I could think of was this big, burly guy ripping into her. "TAKE OFF THOSE BELTS. TIDY UP THAT COAT. TUCK YOUR PANTS INTO YOUR BOOTS. THIS IS THE MILITARY, RECRUIT. NOT SOME FANCY PANTS FASHION SHOW."
And then I could not stop giggling.

EDIT1: ROUND 1 has been passed. So upgrades and what not.

Based Russel's evolution on the harpy eagle [link] , which is the second largest eagle in the world.

Bennie will be interesting as I have never drawn a ralts or its evolutions, nor used them in any game I have ever played. So it'll be a learning curve for this one.
... Now that I think about it... I don't think I've ever used a psychic type .__.
