This looks like ghost could be it’s secondary typing.
Maybe in alola, houndoom’s dark typing “died” in a way and became a ghost typing. Ghosts don’t need to worry about maintaining body heat and the ice typing comes from the new environment and houndoom learning to control and use the ice around it.
