Description This is one of my favorites - originally shot about ten years ago - and part of my first creative burst with black and white. I originally had album cover art in mind for style - but today it just seems personal.

*************
this is a film print of B&W over 12 years old or so that was scanned - so sorry for the quality - and i know its huge - but b/c it was from my first shoot ever and my first self portrait - i just like having it here

A very emotive pose, the B/W tone do add a very artistic touch to the whole photo. Well done!

Hi there, devi!

I’ve enjoyed the conceptual spirit of this deviation. It is pretty much inspiring!

For I have sin I won’t live anymore in purity; For I have sin I won’t be able to kiss and touch you anymore, For I have sin I will be in complete penance thru the rest of my death

(See? Inspiring work, my dear! )

Kisses,

god, this picture is just so cool. I love the whiteness of her dress, it provides nice contrast, and her expression is perfect

oo this is excellent, you should take photos in this manner now, too. I want to get hold of older cameras to produce photos like this, I think it is an era that should never be forgotten!

Excellent work. Yeah this would be great for an album cover, with the name in white in the bottom right corner.

So this is where it all began! amazing.

Hmm, I just made a comment on this, but it didn't post. Grr.

Anyway, I think I could see this as some kind of an album cover, though for who though . . . that is an interesting question. If I can ever manage to pull a band together, and stay together for more than one of two get-togethers, you'll likely be hearing from me about this shot.

I couldn't help but feel that the image had a kind of dull quality, tone wise. But I really like it. I just wish I could find a decent film like that. The only ones I can find, that I can actually have developed seem to be mid-ranged no matter what the setting. The images look like they have a kind of dirty quality to them. You'll see what I mean soon enough; I get them back tomorrow hopefully.

the tones in this black and white photo definitely make it more appealing to the eye then just a regular desaturated one. Great capture and the title is powerful

Wow. wow. this piece is so powerful. it's hard to describe in words, but there is an air about this photo that will not be ignored. there is a shame and yet, also a classic beauty portrayed in this picture. great work, one of my favorites too.

With its efficent dark tones this shot looks dated (even because it could be the original version redigitalized, couldn't it?) but is the pose and the cut of the scene that tranfer an amazing emotional life after death sensation.
Much apreciated it, very like it.

Do you think I might be able to use this for a poem of mine. I need some kind of prayer like pose. If you want to read it first just note me.

I like the setting ( guess you would call it) of this pic. Greavyard with that twisty bench in the background. I like how she is sitting.....the pose goes well with the setting.

i love black and white, the pose is PERFECT. shows all emotion in whatever this soul is thinking/praying for. I love the dress, the way it fits the girl just adds to the story. The more i look at the picture the more i find things to talk about and love. The setting is also a great place. The bottom of your dress and your hands look brighter, as if your body is fulling up with a sense of warmth and forgiveness. AWESOME job i love your stuff.

It's a great picture, I too like the pose and the way you are holding your head to the heavens. Very personal photo I'd say if the feelings were true while posing. I would love to color this and submit to DA with your permission of course. Would you mind?

Very nice. I love the toning within the black and white.. it's not a crisp black/white.. it's got so many other shades inside. Her pose is so expressive - the way the head is tilted, and the way she's holding her hands. Seems almost like she's begging forgiveness for some past sin.. which would probably be where you got your title. I love this. +fav.

This would make a really cool album cover. It reminds me of some of the covers from the 70's. No particular artist in mind, but just the tone. Very nice.

I love this image too.

It's black and white, but the contrasts are a bit darker than what most black and whites are. It's either black, or white...no greys. Nice pose too...totally fitting of the title. Although her kneeling is a shameful kinda emotion, so it's a little unsettling...like...I don't wanna know what sin she just commited.

And I'm sure this is just me and my darkside...but because the contrast and shadows are so deep on the eyes and the cheekbone - it resembles a skull...in a way. Kinda haunting.

Nice shot

This is a beautiful shot. The lighting created amazing shadows and highlights for contrast and the expression presented in the pose is passionate... the title completes the compostion... I really likes the concept and feeling...
