I love the buterfly against the white background, but I think the lighting could have been a little better so that the glass doesn't dissappear into the background quite so much.
I'm not sure the mood of this piece feels quite right to me, but that's just my opinion. If you want me to explain why, just message me. I think it might take a little too much room here.

feel free to note me your opinions - this is my photo of one of the butterflies under a glass and that's really about it - my "grass is greener" is really my about being free statement - but this is done in super high contrast to be powerful and striking.

At least once a day, I feel exactly this way. Trapped...I can see the outside and the potential for life but still I am trapped by invisable walls.
Great concept. Sad....

at the
encouragement comment you left, saying as I favourited this but didn't leave you a comment!! Well here's my thoughts:
The thing that I love about this one is the light freshness of it. For me I would have lightened the top so that the glass blends more into the background (I know that this is in direct contrast to what 'fallincupid' says but I'll finish) .. I get the dual perception that if you focus on the butterfly you almost feel that she is free but just resting but then look up to take in the rest of it and find that she is trapped
Beautiful work honey

....others might see this as very demented.....I love this shot. The glass is tipped a bit in the frame though.

Wonderful outside the box photo. I like the Free At Last shot that follows this as well. The light is perfect here and gives the glass a perfect shine. Beautiful !

It's as if the jar is invisible, because the background is white, but the jar's still there. That's pretty shibby

i think this is one of the best pic in the "buttefly series".
i like the stark contrast between the butterfly and the white background.
and the concept is quite strong too.
cheers,
Marcello

poor thing..
the glass seems to be merged with the sterile white background, which makes it even better.
just really like the contrast, technical and otherwise.

this image portrays the feeling most graphically.
only i feel trapped, i am trapped inside my body and not within walls.

i like this but i think the lines of the glass get a little lost with the white background. other than that, it's a nice picture and concept. best wishes!
