I think the room looks a bit bigger than it really is in this shot (I shot from the doorway) - but the lighting is really great here in the afternoon, I admit. We have one of those houses that unfortunately the bedroom windows face east

Distracting most times...I tend to stare out the window at cars going by. I could just close the curtains, but it doesn't help much

I found the same, I used to live in a house overlooking downtown and could see down both valleys for miles but i just could never get work done. Now in my new place with no view, I am in the darkest corner and can work forever now lol...i don't know if that is really a good thing.

Why do you have your loudspeakers against eachother? Why are hey not on either side of your monitor? Placed this close together, stereo is out of the question and when seated at the machine, all the sound is coming from the right. That is OK if all you want is background noise, but it would suck for any serious music listener. Nice looking tower. Acrylic case. Stylish, but radiates EMF like a mofo (no sheilding, good way to tan your legs). Nice office, lovely view out the window. Now put those speakers where they belong, for right now, they look like an afterthought. Good shot of the workspace, aye.

If it was a good enough quality, I would worry about the listening experience, but as it isn't, and also doesn't have very long cords connecting the speakers to the player itself, I leave it is it is 
I LOVE my tower, with the exception of one thing - it had these nice looking front panels on it, but they were held on by flimsy pegs that broke the first time I moved it. This is what it looked like before I broke it [link] - and of course, no computer is complete without a little customization

I see. Sexy case. Too bad about the crappy bezal retainers. I see that a lot. A great case with a crappy bezal. Nice airflow. Rather stylish. As for speakers, get a set of Logitechs. Not the low end cheepies. The good ones. They are much smaller than the ones you have now, and they will knock your face off with raw power and clean sound. And since the power amp is on the subwoofer, you can run a cable extension from your audio out and put them where they need to be, that is, unless music is just an afterthought in your life to chase awy the silence of your mind, as it is for most people. A computer that nice needs decent speakers.

It doesn't actually bother me that much. What I was surprised about is how sturdy the case is (aside form the front panel covers). I don't use my stereo for much, as you said, for "background noise" I rarely listen to any music at my computer anymore so I don't have much need for certain setups. I spend most of my time either in the livingroom (where we have 6.1 surround sound) or in our basement which also has a great set up

As long as you do not foul your brain or nasty up the world listening to rap on it, I guess it's all good. I make music on my machine, so I need good audio. I make pictures and movies too, so I need a good monitor. They kind of go together.

Sounds like my furniture in college...I had a sectional couch that I found after move-out on someone's lawn as my computer chair/only chair. Make do with what you have I guess

We try to keep the mess contained to our bedroom/desk area.
It's so bad that when someone broke into our house on Thursday, it took HOURS to figure out that things were missing from our desk.

Even when my desk isn't new, it isn't to terribly messy. I have a day or two where I'll mess up my desk, but then it drives me nuts and I have to clean it
