I loved working with this photographer, he's brilliant with scenery, but I never knew when he was shooting because he had to stand so far away!!

I like that you didn't know when he was shooting because it definitely lent to the "observatory" effect rather than the more common effect garnered from engaging with a model who knows when you're shooting them. <3

He was pretty adamant about keeping it observatory - it was definitely interesting for me since I am used to photographers being up close and personal

wow, really nice. Love the driftwood piece in this. The contrast of shape and form really stand out when it is in black n white. gorgeous.

I loved how it turned out...it was supposed to be more about the landscape than me, but I still like it

It is a combination of both, that is what makes it work so well.

This is great. I have to admit I almost missed the fact that you were in there until I enlarged it. LOL
Very creative. Where was this done? When I come your way will this area be available?
I too, love the black and white. It's where I started and still have deep appreciation for a well exposed black and white image. And this is well exposed. (no pun intended) LOL

Thats why I recommended the full-view

I can't really say if it'll be there or not, I can take you to the beach where I found it but I can't say that it won't have drifted off again

Drift wood is like that. Sometimes it's here today and gone tomorrow. Was this along Superior? Or Ontario perhaps?

Thats the one we live closest to...Lake Ontario is about a half hour away, but I dont really know any beaches on that side yet...

How far is this location from you? I used to know some very private areas along Lake Michigan but last time I checked they have almost all be bought up by people who have built summer homes and in some cases year around homes on them.

This is 10-15 minutes away from where I live...Its not terribly populated in the summer, but I wouldn't say private enough to do nudes on. I got lucky that it was still warm enough to shoot when we went, and no one was there because all the kids are back in school...

Years ago we used to go to some of the more remote beaches along the big lake and shoot nudes. Like you said the kids were in school and most or many of the summer cottages were closed. Not so today because many of those cottages have been torn down and large year round homes built in their place.

I like it in moderation...it works well for some things but not others, luckily nature photography looks good either way
