I know of boxedphotos very well. We comment back and forth. She is wonderful. NOt only as a photographer but I love her personal nudes.
I would love to shoot with you but probably next summer. If memory serves your in Canada aren't you? And you have some connection with Mt. Pleasant.
Yes, I agree that you should not have to pay to be nude. I have always felt that, no mater what age or shape one body is in, nudity should be openly practiced...in appropriate places. Obviously around schools and churches wouldn't be appropriate.
I am going to confide in you the fact that my wife and I once belonged to a local nudest group. It was a great experiance. But we had to drop out because of the expense. I will say that the cost was necessary because they had very nice grounds. Underground pool, hot tub, club house and a nice camp ground. But it was just too expensive for us.

I believe you may have mentioned about being nudists at some point. I can understand a fee for upkeep of recreation areas, but again, it seems silly to have to pay to be as naked as the day you were born

Does seem kind of silly. I do agree that someone has to pay for the upkeep and for new things. I don't know how things are in Canada but here in the states, at least in Michigan, there are no real clothes optional or nude beaches. You would think that with all of the Lake Michigan and other lakes shore lines there would be. There are some areas that people do sun bathe nude and swim but they are not well known except to a few people.

It does seem strange with that much coastline, but there are a lot of very conservative people in Michigan. We do have a few clothing optional beaches here, personally I haven't visited them though.

You should. It would be a great place for a photo shoot. Yes, Michigan is very conservative. And Grand Rapids is even more so than some of the rest of Michigan. I suspect it is the Dutch influance. Although I understand that the Netherlands per say is not all that conservative. When I said there were no nude areas I was not counting nudist clubs. I think there are at least 4. Only one in my immediate area. (Forest Hills club) The one in Battle Creek I understand has been sold and the new owner were going to turn it into a family oriented resort. I don't know if that ever happened or not.

I definitely understand that - the area I'm in is also largely Dutch-descendant and is one of the most conservative areas in all of the country. Its kind of a weird little bubble thats completely different from the rest of Southern Ontario...

Are you near Toronto? When you come to this part of the country do you come through Windsor? Or across the bridge at Sarnia?

I'm about a half hour West of Niagara Falls (Toronto is about two hours north) - we usually go through Sarnia because it shaves off about an hour from our trip, plus its usually not as busy either...

Last time we were in Canada, on our way to upstate New York, we went that way also. For some reason we always seem to hit customs at the wrong time.

There's never a good time to hit customs, from what I've seen. Thats part of why my husband and I got Nexus passes, but then again we travel to Michigan enough for them to be worth it

We have never had any problems with customs except for the long lines. We did make one mistake and that was trying to leave or get back into the US on our 4th of July. Everyone in the US goes on vacation that week or so it seems.

Actually, I know how you feel, we were crossing the border this year on the 4th of July at around 8pm, but on the plus side, we got to see all the fireworks on the way to my parents One day I'll never travel on EVER again is December 26th...everyone's coming home with all their presents, it was a nightmare!!

I can imagine. An ideal time to smuggle something in or out. Hide it among the gifts. Do your parents live here in the states?

They live In Mt. Pleasant. Oh, and I mean the opposite about going through customs - more people being stopped than usual...

Gotcha. We went through once on a holiday (I think our labor day) when it seemed like every car was being checked. They even had dogs checking campers and motor homes. Much have been looking for something.
When you go up there to visit you parents what route do you take. (I75 or ?) Just wondering how close to us you are on your journey.

We usually take I-69 to Lansing, then US-127 all the way to Mt. Pleasant Occasionally though we take I-69 to Flint, then US-23/US-10 to Saginaw/Midland, but thats more of a hassle.
We've been across the border a few times when they had dogs and a helicopter out. Luckily we weren't what they were looking for!! (By the way, Labor Day is the same here, as with almost all holidays [excluding Thanksgiving, ours is in October])

Interesting. According to a Mapquest that I just ran if you were to take the Flint one and go onto I-96 you would be about 45 miles from our front door. Closer than I thought.
Do you celebrate the 4th of July like we do? I did know about the Thanksgiving difference.

Yeah, its just a hop, skip, and a jump away
We don't celebrate the 4th of July, but oddly enough we celebrate a very similar holiday on the 1st of July. For us its called "Canada Day", which is our Independence day, although it comes almost 200 years past America's, but it involves a very similar celebration with lost of fireworks and barbeques.
For the most part the holidays we don't celebrate are President's Day, presidents birthdays, and MLK Day, although many people unofficially observe it here.

Actualy if you were to look at a map of Michigan we are only 4 miles from the intersection of I-96 and M50.
Thanks for enlightening me on the similarities between our holidays.

Confidence is all a matter of perspective. I don't think of it as confidence because I am just being myself. I know some people will like it, and some people won't, and those that don't can bugger off!
