Coloring him was exceedingly hard for me, but I suppose this tone works. This costume for him may have been used once, but that story and that design REALLY stayed with me... the BEST Darkseid for me always has a personality rather than be used as some bargain bin punching bag or "teh evil is there !". As evil great DS is, he is also far more nuanced than people let on. And if you won't be his knight, you would be his pawn.Related content

While I much prefer "Foundations" as a Legion VS Darkseid story, this is one my favorite portrayals of DS and the least conventional; it is him with depression. And he loses nothing of his gravitas ! Check it even for curiosity's sake ( though as far as legion stuff goes, the "5 years later" is too esoteric for its own good... I could not follow the first 5 issues WITHOUT finding some explanations on the net !)Β
