Description
I know that I'm not eloquent. In a way , I am not all that well versed in litterature & vocabulary, making it hard for me to coherently explain my opinions . As for my fanfic , I'm still writing but I go slowly since I crave for coherency & want it to be somewhat decent .(& also that 2 people actually bother to read whatever I do & for that they have No Idea How Friggin Grateful I am for their patience & appreciation...)Now this poster is a way to illustrate a Top 20. I'm giving the x-men villains that I a) Love or really like b) am interested in using c) will resurrect with a new plan in mind (rewriting the same stuff with them would be boring...) d) deserve more love & respect rather than the spite & hack writing most of them have been subjected to lately.(like being jobbed to make some A_hole look better instead of an epic send-off.
Just so you know kids, I'm kinda in hurry right now . So in short the villain , theme song(the one I thought 'd be fitting , open for debate of course), I'll explain the positions later (it'd help if you ask , pleeeeeaaaase......)
20 Sugar-Man [link]
Being from an alternate reality was never a valid argument to hate a character. Case in point this fine gentleman deserves being used in horror driven stories. I mean take a good look at the damn thing ! 2 meters tall, a hundred teeth with the size of bananas & a tongue as sharp as a spear. He's quite knowledgeable in genetics & core reactor & a size-changing cannibal. With the right artist, I'm convinced this guy can be shit-your-pants sort of scary as well as a formidable. Of course they forget about that....
I chose this theme since his appearance in AOA was just that damn creepy, besides he can smell fear !
19Lady Deathstrike
Now, while her reasons to chase Logan can be quite weird, Yuriko can be 2 kinds of adversary: the one that chases tirelessly for a vengeance or because , well , she was paid to. Other than that, she kills for self-defense (not that strange considering her line of work),& can sell you any cybernetic body part you want for a price & , if personnal, will fight you on even ground.
18Sauron
Dr Lykos looks like a flying pteranodon that eats energy through his palms, that's really comic book idea here people. Add to that the flair to the dramatic & Dr Doomesque rants, Sauron is always fun to read loudly. His stint with weapon X should end with regaining all of his intelligence to have his rightful place as a villain that is truly resilient to be a threat to a team. I aim to do that...
17Shadow King
Ahmal Farouk seems to get tired rather quickly , but there's still his malevolent hedonist side that makes him worthwile. The king is a man that can attack through mafia connections or your soul if you ever encounter him. These possessions have to be tweaked in the right way to keep their flavour...
16Arcade [link]
Ya know, seemingly ridiculous killers are sort of of rare these days. The theme I chose is not random at all because 1) they're blue-eyed redheads 2) Killing is their jobs except that our present friend is paid to do so 3) they look harmless but definitely aren't, which is an advantage. People definitely need to remember how frightening a mercenary that also bets his own life can be .And by that , I don't mean turning him into J. Dahmer, but to let you know that his attraction parks , corny as they can be, are made to kill... with style.
15Mesmero
Seriously , why is he that omitted in top lists? In his first appearances he managed to own the whole original+ & Polaris, & later Excalibur (with a no pushover roster either..). His weapon X agent run is whatgrants him his place & the way he uses them what makes him relatable is that we ALL WOULD DO WHAT HE DOES !( well nearly all of it..)
14 Omega Red
A soviet serial killer turned super soldier . Then once reprogrammed , became a kingpin with ambition... say what you will but Arkady deserves better than being the punchbag villain in that month's issue! For fuck sake people, No normal person would survive long enough within this guy 's range (death factor being a reason for starters) & to boot, he's skilled in brawling & killing! Such a formidable opponent still has untapped fuel in him, the cartoon already touched a particular trait that can be expanded with this particular quote "Do you know how painful it is to be a weapon, and spend the rest of your life unused ?", food for thought ain't it?
13Emplate [link]
I know what you're gonna say " come on, a Gen X villain?", YES, I've always believed the Gen X & X-force deserved to be the new x-men rather than be the rookies (which is why you always see me insisting on that point. My disgust for how they keep pulling them from their true badassery to just make them canon fodder knows no bound...). Marius has the greed & scary look to be enough of a nightmare inducing creature. He is glutton enough to take on many enemies powers at a time.Besides , he's the Michael Myers to Monet's Laurie...
12Exodus
GAAAh! How to speak of DuParis without getting unnerved at how stupidly writers hold the crusader back. What's wrong with Exodus ? He does have a fanatical & focused mind , yet does have enough honor to look badass rather than a single-minded killer (remember, he thinks he's indebted to Magneto... & YET THEY RARELY TRY USING THEM BOTH IN A TEAM-UP.) Anyhow, he can be a godsend when fighting a common threat & a true problem when you are on his way. Maybe they should have gone with the heir of Magneto plan after all...
11 Goblin Queen [link]
You'd have seen by now that while not being what I call a villainess per say, Maddie is still a formidable foe that needs a reestablishment. Let's see this, she's been hurt by Scott's depression & had her sanity broken to a thousand pieces by her "father".
I genuinely see that she should be used sparringly & for tragic horror driven stories (what would a broken mother do to restart her life from zero, why take it from someone else of course! By ...ANY...mean necessary...) . Being a clone is actually a valid enough motivation to go coockoo , especially when you've been thrown away in the trash... & as for the theme song , well , her "dad" looks like Rob Zombie when you look closer at it, & she " has blood on her skin dripping with sin" & I'll bring her back from the dead !
10Sebastian Shaw
Here's the thing , Shaw never seemed all that motivated by an ideology. He's more of " it's business, don't take it personally" kind of villainy, which doesn't make him less ruthless. The idea of the egotistical & successful businessman as a foe to the x-men is quite good, that's the Shaw i enjoy reading about. (& the lech they shat out later or the movie version? He 's neither a telepath nor a nazi for god sake...)
9Dark Beast [link]
I know that there's another mad scientist in this list but this one is a particular specimen. By Mad , I mean the doctor who would melt you in a protein goo for the sake of playing with your genes to see what we'll happen next FOR SCIENCE. Seriously reread AOA & you'll see why the beast earned this nickname . They really made him too tame... Let's give Hank a bit of a makeover, & by that I mean the right place to exploit his talents to the max. Where would guinea pigs mutants hide to be easily picked ?
8Selene [link]
The one word that should come to mind when talking anout the black queen herself is "predator". By all meaning of the words people, whatever they are , are her food. In the sack, she 's a praying mantis & in a fight she's a demoness, a super-powered Elizabeth Batory. Not only does she master her mutant gift to the perfection as well as mystical knowledge to organise her hunts. Thought to be a goddess by her people but seen as a devil by her foes. Was I clear enough about my appreciation here?
7Magneto [link]
Surprised that he'd be below the top 5? Be even more surprised that the ones below have more fuel as villains than the master of magnetism. No , he is not the X-men greatest foe,he's their mentor's greatest rival!I don't know why they always make him the star - he is NOT the most ideologically-enduring villain, not by a long shot.Nowadays he's whatever a writer makes of him & , while not always a bad thing, it goes sometimes beyond the boundaries of good taste. There's mustache twirling & large ham Stan Lee version; the tormented, ruthless yet principled , almost heroic version of Claremont (close to the TAS version); the frightening, violent , methodical & clever Lobdell/Nicieza one (close to the evolution version) & the (it must be said ) dull, idiotic, vulgar, pedophiliac ,drugged up, borderline retarded Magneto of Morrison (evil isn't necessarily stupidity, ya baldheaded junkie, the plan is... oh I'll develop another time.) ; and the (sorry) just plain dull washed up, cleaned of his sins ,poodle to the new Gary Stu in charge current version (one of the reason my fanarts & fic s are being made).
While tragic , his origin has dulled due to how many times he goes on & on & on & on about it. Mainly on this list because of the good stories that have been written with him (last one being ... well take a guess !)
6Mystique [link]
The femme fatale of the rogues gallery. While she does love Rogue like daughter & Irene like ... a lover (yeah , I'm not that well spoken, sorry), she dumped Kurt off a cliff after shagging the german baron (because I SAID SO!) & killed Graydon Creed the son she had with Sabretooth ( guess Vic's sperm has the power to pierce condoms!). Raven's biggest strength is that she's a spy first & foremost, both cartoons used her quiet well (although my preference leans towards the evolution version since he had a better place to antagonise the heroes.)
5Weapon X
To keep this short, I'm more interested in an organization that uses mutants & mutates while trying to get rid of rebellious elements rather than the whole Giant trash cans that KILL MUTANTS while cusing more collateral than said dangerous mutants (face it folks , the only convincing sentinel were a) the rare evolution version b)the OZT humansized Bastion led ones, & even those don't do much for me...). Besides, Trask , Stryker Sublime & Colcord pale in comparison with Jackson who's a really nuanced & cool backstabber & that knows how to pull people chains.
4Stryfe [link]
I always hear on forums "boring, whiny , Liefeld stuff , blah blah blah..." about this guy.To that I call BULLSHIT. Now if you look at him with open eyes , Stryfe actually has a lot of different cards to play as an antagonist. Think of him as a mixture of Souther from HNK & Annie Wilkes versatility with a flavour of shakespearesque ranting & you're close to the mark. He takes pettiness & turns it into a form of art, he conceived a plague to get to his brother & parents , causing a lot of people to get caught in between. We're talking about a kid who in well-spoken brattiness managed to create an army to follow him & making them think that he cared for them while he didn't give a damn. He should definitely be used as a larger scale threat rather than an anxilliary villain...
3Sabretooth
[link]
Kids, I am honestly disappointed at how many of you have forgotten what an amazing monster Victor Creed has always been. Some say that Logan can do without him, but I'd say the opposite is far closer to the truth. Sabes is the Hannibal Lecter +Freddy of x-men villains not only Wolverine. The whole savage animal brawling style & brutish appearance are a mask to an extremely clever, ruthless & manipulative bastard. Without any power or whatsoever , Victor loves mind screw that turn his victim into a psychotic mess since he'll deduce their shortcomings or if they have skeletons in the closet... THE GUY OWNED FRIGGIN XAVIER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Just by getting close to make Prof X admitting his failures.
And about Wolverine, well, without the supporting characters blike Jubilee or Enemies like Victor allow me to tell you that he becomes nothing more than a shell to stamp on covers. Yes kids, Wolvie needs Sabes , not the other way around!
2Mr Sinister [link]
One of the greatest mad scientists in comics & the embodiment of the tragic concept of thirst for knowledge being the ruin of the soul. Dr Essex does transcend the whole good/ Evil dichotomy, he's only interested in how the species shall improve over period of time. While his experiments have ruined countless lives, the man still believes in his mission for the sake of science & a better world; He's not concerned about human/mutant farrago, which already makes him beyond the racist A-holes.
In short, Nathaniel has never been one-note & a golden character whose relevance is equal to that of science & the ethical questions revolving around it.
Which is why this super-powered non-nazi Mengele is worthy of praise...
1 Apocalypse [link]
YOU HEARD RIGHT! This guy is not only oosing with potential but has the ingredients to be used in alot of stories, unlike Magneto who only has an on-off switch button when it comes to being the antagonist. En Sabah Nur on the other hand has a lot more going for him & deserves to have all the sides of his personality to be explored. He is actually polydimensional & compelling;
_ His survival of the fittest mantra is neither good nor evil. He is nothing more than the harbinger of The Strong - he's all-but the living incarnation of natural selection. His motives are amongst the most sincere of all, whilst at the same time are perhaps the most brutal. Apocalypse's overwhelming power has obviously not seen him win out - although at least in Cable's dystopian future he had- its the incredibly patient and utterly complex mind behind his actions that are most impressive. I would challenge pretty much any of the geniuses in the marvelverse to better Apocalypse on a good day. His enemity with Nathan & Sinister was really really underrated & unexplored.
_He has a tragic past. No make that lives through tragedy! He's the posterchild of rejected feared & hated because of his appearance, yet he never let that keep him down. The few people who loved were either killed or ended up betraying him. But Apoc DOESN't Bitch & moan about it! Give him credit for that! 5000 years of rejection & only earning fear & spite (I mean Archangel is really an ungrateful child isn't he?)
_The A buckle isn't more ridiculous than the guys wearing speedos on their trousers plus it means awesome for him & assholes to his enemies or the marvel writers that dare insult his greatness!
_ As for the whole " he does the same thing over & over", it's wrong. His goal is consistent, but the methods to achieve them are endless ! Hell in the cartoons (TAS & Evolution) Anytime he appeared he always did something different! Why Comic writers just don't see the depth & multifaceted potential of an egyptian ancient megamorph is just fucking beyond me ! It's really up to those goddamn hacks to do so!
So Say whatever you will , but Apocalypse is an amazing being that never has been appreciated for his true glorious epicness & keeps getting it denied from him while he's in fact far more interesting & deeper than what most people think !
Article over people, NOW PLEASE COMMENT ON WHO I OMITTED OR WHY YOU'D DISAGREE !

Magneto morally flips flops so much he's disqualified from being considered a Marve villain

Really? Thank you very much ! Seeing how the Lobdell Nicieza run is my absolute favorite (as opposed to this overrated garbage [link] [link] [link] ) they showed how the blue-lipped egyptian, the chalk skinned Herbert West and Annie Wilkes in a Cable suit were respectively much much more entertaining and interesting than Magneto [link] . They deserve much better than to be constantly shunned by the comics snobs...

Very valid points. Azazel, Cassandra Nova, Quentin Quire, Xorn...into the Limbo with them!
And the return of the gigant size sentinels in SHI(T)SM was just ridiculous. Modern sentinels should look like the Nimrod version (Yeah, Second Coming was a disappointment, but damm these Nimrod-Sentinels got a nice look).
Yeah, we need Sabretooth back! A cheap copy of Logan with an mowhak is not a replacement.
An Stryfe, Apocalypse and Exodus need to remember how powerfull they really are.
Als Weapon X is underused. ItΒ΄s only logic that many people would try to exploit mutants. But instead isΒ΄s all about the genocidal racists.

Hey, me again. How about these guys...Azezal, Bastion, Nanny( probably not a great idea but an old lady obsessed with raising mutants as her own?), and Onslaught( I KNOW you don't like him, but if take away from the whole "Dark Xavier" thing and make him a separate, depressing kill all life because life is pointless kind of villain and it could be good). Just a thought, please don't think I have no taste for choosing Onslaught.
π: 0 β©: 1
devilkais In reply to comic-hero [2012-01-26 12:36:08 +0000 UTC]
Dude, Dude, reeelaaaax...
I love Onslaught as Dark Xavier actually & I'll talk about that once we get to the Exiles poster. The Onslaught story is not as bad as people say (especially if said people say that a 50 year fetus from the sewer is an outstanding villain... but hey I don't judge them even if most of them act like downright jacktards about it .)
Azazel ... No sorry, I don't acknowledge him at all, Austen's run is a hernia I got rid of. Besides here's the actual script
Azz " Yes Kurt I AM YOUR FATHER ! " (thunder strikes)
Kurt "Really ? I thought it was that german baron guy ... but hey with Mystique I may never know."
Azz " No! I am!"
Kurt "alright alright. Let's discuss it calmly..."
Azz " wait? aren't you even surprised ? That your father is a DEMON!"
Kurt " I am a long time x-man ,professional explorer & president of the Errol Flynn fanclub. I have been in Excalibur & seen a nazi alternate self I had to fight. I have the patience to STAND Brian Braddock .See as an escrime teacher/ priest/ sexy arche kicker ... a demon as a father , that's small potatoes. And clearly , your plan is not that logical "father".
Azz " don't you badmouth me boy! I know what I'm doing!"
Kurt " ... Indeed you do. a breeding portal?"
Azz " Hey ! at least my plan isn't as ridiculous as Xorn's !
Kurt " aha! you got a point here !"
As for Bastion, the sentinels made their time. And I consider Weapon X a much juicier concept than the whole KILL all mutants.
Nanny is a fun idea actually !
Hope you liked the poster ...

Thanks! To be honest, I'm trying to publish my own comic series and the X-Men has been one the biggest(if not the biggest)inspiration for the series. And, i really like your opinions on the X-Men. I'm honored & touched you like my opinions (more than half of comics forums say that I'm a blasphemer but fuck'em...)
To understand what kind of x-men fan I am , here is a link [link]
As for schism, here's MY version !
C" & Jean never loved you!She was afraid of you..."
W" suuuure, like she'd love the guy who macked on Paris Hilton when she wasn't even cold..."
C" Well at least my son is not an unstable whackjob with a mohawk!"
W " Still aiming low Bub? okay. I try to help him whenever I can & You ? You let Cable die instead of you. You must be in competition for father of the year too"
C " It was for the good of the reich...errr I mean mutantkind. & You agreed to be on my side for the greater good!& seeing your liking for Jailbaits , you're not exactly a guy someone would trust with his kids!"
W " You implying I'm a pedo?"
C " Oh no... Necropedophiliac is more like it! You'd even rape a vacuum cleaner with a red wig on it."
W" NOW IT'S ON YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
The other mutants contemplate the scene with consternation.
Jubilee " errr...we're supposed to follow one of these guys? "
Rogue " Ah don' think so shugah...."
Gambit"I'll side with One-eye..."
The Others (& the readers)"WHAAAAt ???"
G" what? you've ever seen his ferrari? I could sell de pieces 3 mils each . De guy has the cavern of Ali Baba in his mansion, How'd you think he paid for his island?& isn't it easier to rob him at his side"
" I too shall side with my father!"
" WTF,! Stryfe? what are you doing here? you want to be an x-men too?"
S " oh come now! you let the red bucket head man join you, Sabretooth & mystique can & The little Omega punk junkie can. Why would I not?"
" Well you're a villain ..."
S " I only unleashed a deadly plague at one time & raped my brother's wife! Magneto, here launched an EMP on the earth which killed millions & is IN. Besides my father , the Ceasar of mutants, deserves his own Brutus at his side!"
G " Don't off him before I get him to sign dis will though!
" & what's next? Sinister will be the science teacher? Selene will guard the kindergartens?"
S" As a matter of fact, the good Dr Essex wanted me to hand his CV to my father , & Selene sent this letter to know if a place was available..."
Meanwhile , Douchelops & Whoreverine are still at it.On top of the Utopia Island, Apocalypse is facepalming at the sheer stupidity of the sight. " And these will be the x-men leaders? My choice would be the weather goddess, even though I do wonder where she is?... Alright, saving these 2 will be like reattaching gangrenuous limbs to a healthy body, SHIP!"
"yes master..."
" Lauch the H-bomb , my faithful vessel & let us wipe this insulting embarassement out of memories. If anyone mentions it again , I the forever walker , shall handle their tongues personally..."
An explosion later... the 2 dickweeds bite the dust but the others survive.

Well with Victor, you have a man-beast version of H. Lecter, Freddy Krueger & a t-rex apetite.
With Hank you have a refined version of the mad scientist, who would try anything on anyone, I remember the horrors he commited in AOA, he has the playful side of Good Hank, but when it comes to torture...

[link]
π: 0 β©: 0
Mitchfoxbane [2011-11-16 09:08:03 +0000 UTC]
Great list you have for those X-Villains! If I hadn't read Tieri's Weapon X comic, then I wouldn't have recognized Mesmero's new look as I have been too used to seeing his silver age look in 70s X-Men comic.
Some of the villains who I think would also make it to the list are...
- Spiral (even though she's a henchwoman of Mojo, she is more deadly than her maniac boss)
- Donald Pierce (as much of a dirty coward he is, he is more cruel than Lady Deathstrike by attacking young mutants. Also, with the help of the Reavers, he captured and tortured Wolverine in the outback by crucifying him)
- Proteus (even though he appears a few times in the comic, he is one of the toughest foes for the X-Men. Other than being powerful with his reality-warping and stealing bodies, he is so monstrous that even his mother Moira had to kill him and had made Wolverine shudder at the first encounter by screwing his mind and body. When I read the comic about his first appearance, he is one of the villains who scared me)

Yep, Weapon X is maybe uneven at parts, but it's a part of thd x-men mythos that was unfortunately neglected (like Cable has been actually...). And while Tieri may make a few fuck-ups (John Wraith is the first thing I'm bringin back! the one killed by Victor was just an LMD. I also changed Chamber's motivation for being a mole inside of Weapon X( since I refuse to recognise anything from Austen...), Hope you liked the first 2 chapters...), He did something that Morrison never did: Retooling some characters & actually fleshing them out to give them a new direction, he even made me consider Sublime! that was an exploit... & it 's sad that anti-heroes & villains from that book were far more likeable than the "heroes" of the core books...
As for the villains you've listed:
-Mojo was originally a great villain β especially with stories dealing with the Exiles or with that Longshot mini (which was excellent). He became horrid the moment Chris Claremont tried to shoehorn him into X-Men continuity since he (& by extension Longshot )were too over the top for the x-men...But I don't mind at all in Exiles, this is where I'm gonna draw him...
-Spiral: yeah, maybe I should have thought about her . Still as long as body part black market is the theme of a story she'd definitely work
-Pierce: Last time I saw him ,he was in a Cable issue buried under the snow near one of Apocalypse's temples...still alive...the thing is I thought all mutie haters were kind of the same bag. Hence why I thought Jackson was far more charismatic & interesting than Hodge, Colcord, Stryker (hate this guy...)...
-Proteus ; Problem is, Kevin is dead... my list only included guys that were alive & kicking. Now I don't disagree on his monstruosity, that was a kickass bastard!
And about the x-men movies, since First class was TEH SUCCESS (never understood the TEH myself...), here are My 2 cents on them all/
The trilogy:
.I found ALL downright terrible. No one was fun. When you can't write Mystique as Spywoman Judas it just shows how much you know (screw you Bryan Singer!).Let's play bullet points!
I don't like that Wolverine is the main focus of the film. There is a plot somewhere about mutant hatred, but it's ignored so Wolverine can be the big sensation.
-Anna Paquin as Rogue. When perfectly written Rogue is cool, gorgeous, temperemental and powerful in the comics (& both cartoons, the EVO version still had her badassery intact). In this,BOOOOORIIIIIIng....
-Storm is reduced to a badly acted, badly written, badly directed and badly represented character. It's horrid. Storm is an ace character that should make a strong impression, but hey maybe these were the first of her sidelining.
Cyclops is meant to be a leader but is written as Wolverine's play thing and Jean Grey's son. It's a shambles.Well props to him for being heads above Morrison's douche bastardization (it doesn't say much!)
Sabretooth, the deliciously conniving, volatile villain that makes Wolverine's life a living hell, the fusion of Freddy Kruger & H.Lecter... oh wait, no, he's some dumb thug who can't win a fight and has never seen Wolverine before, ever!& Victor has the potential to carry a movie as the big bad..
Deadpool... Need I really add anything about what they did to Wade?
Sebastian Shaw is a nazi... Why wasn't Sinister in that movie instead?
-Diamond Emma = automatic fail for me+ horrid memories about a horrid run
- Xavier / Mags again !? AM I THE ONLY ONE DEAD TIRED OF THESE 2 ?
-Azazel! WHAT THE FLYING FUCK WERE THEY THINKING? WHY drum up one of the shittiest villains out there (or, if you're an observant fan, one of the most hated), when you could have done something with a contemporary version of Apocalypse or Mr. Sinister instead (& both of them deserve this far more than Magneto!)? Why go with a character most people wanted to brainbleach themselves after reading the damn story?!

I SO AGREE!!! Your points of truth makes me both want to laugh and cry how bad the movies were!
The only way anyone can enjoy the movies is by forgetting, or not knowing anything like most viewers sadly, that they are based on original comic book stories and characters following any canon.

Who you've omitted? Cassandra Nova of course, how could you forget about her?! She should be the #1!............... J/K She's my most hated X-Men character actually
I agree about what you've written about Exodus I'd really like to see him help out the X-Men once, when facing a common threat - why the editors and writers have never thought of that? He's returning in January (in X-Men Legacy 261), I wonder if he'll do anything besides jobbing to some X-Men again :/ At this point I'd rather see him join the X-Men like Frenzy did, than just being portrayed like a naive nutcase
I pretty much agree with your list (and what I don't agree with is purely subjective i.e. Sugarman and Arcade disgusts me beyond belief) - there are some well established villains there, iconic, underused or interesting ones. I was also surprised you included Magneto but then I read you only disliked his newer "incarnations".....BTW I don't consider Moronson's version Magneto, he's Xorn, I'm so glad for that retcon

Well Exodus can play both sides, he has never been really malicious. So as long as there's a crusade, he 's on!
As for Magneto , I also hate when the others get downgraded to make him look good (the reason HOM was schlok from start to finish. Srsly Marvel? Dr Doom & Apoc kneeling to Magneto ? Give me a break!), just because he was created by Kirby/ Lee & not the others.
About Cass.... the sewer fetus is a #1 question; Do they really think that it was a great villain ?! They were serious? defending that character concept was like defending shitty movies like "Cannibal Holocaust"? No matter what they say, they 'll never convince me of the supposed "cleverness" behind it & the whole "it was too smart for you" doesn't count as an argument , if it was the case then "please explain !".
Onslaught had a better chance to be here, but it was in my Xavier fanart & was hardly a stand alone character (Though I think what undermined the Onslaught Saga was that they chickened out, I'd have srsly offed Xavier like the cartoon did in the end of the story , or having him sacrificing himself. That would have shaken the Status Quo. & While many don't like Lobdell's writing, The guy still has great concepts & is absolutely right when he said the x-men books should have taken advantage of the rich cast they had & develop the rookies into pros. Besides he & Nicieza made Sinister into the faustian figure we know, rather than the "meh" Claremont concept...)
If Sugarman is disgusting... well it's his concept so it means he does his job well ! as for Arcade , the more I'm drawing him, the more I try to make him look like Chucky from Child's play ( Kind of how unmasked Deadpool should look like a mix between Freddy & Resident Evil's Nemesis)
Who would you have added in a top list like this?
what theme song would you choose for Exodus or Omega Red?
Weird thing I've noticed , but in AOA, Sinister looks a lot like Rob Zombie especially on the cover " Hellbilly Deluxe"! Guess that reality allowed him to channel his inner metal fan, while Nur turned America into something out of a Megadeth song (Guess Apocalypse is a fan of that band !)
Speaking of horror movies, here are some recommendations besides Barker's Hellraiser.
-Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 2,3 & the remake (not that bad...)
-Braindead
-Bad Taste
- Candyman (this from story to acting to music is just perfect! Clive Barker 's strongest work!)
-The devil's Rejects
- Shining
- Freddy vs Jason (is it any wonder why Freddy is in MK 9? Hope Jason will also get a DLC)
- The devil's advocate
- Alien 1,2,3,4 (yep I liked all 4!)
- Predator & the newest one
Anyway , take care, & glad I had that discussion! & for the road here are 2 fun MK videos

I think a theme song for Omega Red would be this (note that this song is made by Frank Klepacki):

As for Exodus, maybe this:

Chucky, exactly! That's why he creeps me out, that doll is so grotesque and scary!
Who I would've added? No major players, just some lesser known underdogs like Lady Mastermind, acolytes like Unuscione and Scanner, marauders such as Arclight or Scalphunter. And Ruckus from the Nasty Boys, he's hilarious
Ooh boy, you really asked the best person to recommend theme songs, seeing how I listen to 99.99% goa For Exodus, I'd either choose:
a. Something with a medieval touch , such as [link] or [link] Maybe a bit cliche
b. A powerful goa track such as [link] , it's a personal favorite of mine
c. [link]
As for Omega Red, maybe [link] or [link] (thanks go to my sis for reminding me of these, LOL).
Rob Zombie has a few good songs, and his brother (Powerman 5000) too. While I'm a goa-head, I have no problems with certain industrial rock and metal songs..... I guess it's the intensity that these music styles have in common.
I'd watch most of those movies (I've only seen The Devil's Advocate many years ago) with the exception of Freddy and Jason movies. I can't stand either of them, Jason especially - I hate silent characters
Thanks for those hilarious videos, I haven't seen them before. MK has a vast collection of parodies everywhere, one just needs to filter out the best

The acolytes (or rather ex-acolytes since post-eve of destruction, Magneto is MIA & Exodus has disappeared before) will be the subject for a fanart about Genosha. As for the Marauders & Nasty Boys, well try spotting them in X-travaganza (they are 10, Sinister only chose the best!)

That's right, Emplate really was badass, and yeah, Generation X deserved much more than they're getting. Hey, I'm still waiting for Generation X volume 2!

Hey dude , how you've been ! I hope you liked my list & also remember, the reasons I put a character in this list is a mix of the interest in story potential, appreciation, looks & entertainment value when reading a story (well written that is, with him/her).
I hope Scott Lobdell writes a Generation X Forever mini-series! Claremont's Forever stuff was shit (Grummet's excellent art was wasted ! A shame!), Simonson 's X-factor forever was a WONDER! Ican't recommend it enough ! It had baby Cable + My 2 top villains while the mainstream was (& is still) shit. Besides my friend, you're seeing before the only ( or one of the rare) guy whob Yells that Nicieza, Simonson, Lobdell & PAD are far better nX-men writers than Claremont or Morrison (who's an overrated hack)! Take care!
