You know , I find it sad that people only associate Victor as Logan's nemesis and that's it ... they don't know who Creed is , nor do they acknowledge his development .
People with comics blogs seem to only only focus on the Sabretooth of the early days, BUT that'd be like me praising only Liefield's Cable (while that's honestly nothing more but a prototype , the real Cable's birth was in "Blood and metal" by Fab Nicieza) .
And it’s funny that practically most prototypes were minor “failures”, from Cable to Sabretooth to Gambit to even Wolverine (you can’t really disagree about the Claremont Sabretooth or the early Pre-Logan Wolverine . If you do , then you’re not really a Sabretooth fan? haha )
Remember kids , not all first drawn characters always work out and that’s why evolution or character expansion is unavoidable. Hell, even the cartoon versions (I’ll admit, you can't have him go Mortal Kombat in those , but as I said , better to see the glass half full ) had a more mature Victor Creed than the Claremont "Mutant Massacre " version (to be honest , that story to me was a mere appetizer for things to come ) . He's the ultimate killer for hire and immoral bastard . He’s (and I absolutely insist here !) an amagalm of semi-Lecter / semi-Krueger persona and he doesn’t need to be just a marauder or just Logan's enemy, he is much more than that .
Claremont & Byrne gave birth to him, then Larry Hama (who gave him the name Victor Creed), Lobdell & Nicieza advanced him by giving him his most nightmarish aspects (those of a manipulator ) AND THEN Tieri, Jolley and Rucka PERFECTED HIM. So I based him on those , as well as this [link] ... good idea , eh ?
