If I had to go for one Ghul, it will be the Legion's future one, the one who is BEYOND BATMAN ! Who's blood is Lazarus essence ! Whose voice is David Warner's (or Dee Bradley Baker...) !It is funny howΒ most people say "Raish" while in Arabic, it is pronounced as "Rass". And Ghul is not demon... it means ogre where I am from. Then again "The Shrek's Head" would not be as ominous an epithet !

Maybe. Though he used to be a target of the Assassins League before Friedrich making him the de Facto leader of it.
The difference is that Ra's looked like a game show host (it's the tie...) while TOS Mandarin (much like Loki and Red Skull and Doc Ock in those days) looked like a mix between a janitor and a plane jumper (because of the shape of the green suit... I think Stan Lee had something against that color XD ).
To be fair, I hesitated between this look and the one he sported in "Birth of The Demon". The Breyfogle art in that one is GLORIOUS !

Not quite better. It's more that his Legion story is on par with his best Batman stories ! When he's done right, Ra's is definitely excellent. Check "Birth of the Demon" (O'Neil and Norm Breyfogle at the top of their game !) or the Dixon/Aparo "The Demon Laughs" (also because 90's Joker is best Joker XD )
