Description
this one was a bit trickier to do , being a 90's DC fan & having left after Identity shit crisis, & the thing is I had a hard time to select the most memorable ones & feared to forget the most imposing ones; enjoy!ANTI-MONITOR is believed to be The Monitor's counterpart from The Antimatter Universe. He is responsible for the original Crisis on Infinite Earths, but since his unneeded return he seems to get pushed around a lot.
SOLARIS The stellar supercomputer Solaris hails from the 853rd century. This man-made tyrant sun sought to conquer two eras. By encoding its evil in a techno-virus sent back to infect 20th century machinery, Solaris literally created itself. The JLA and its future counterparts of Justice Legion-A had to join forces to defeat this sentient star.
STARRO He is an evil space-traveling starfish. You don’t get more comics than that! Starro is most terrifying when he’s so utterly fucking alien in motivation that he doesn’t bother explaining why he’s mind-controlling everybody with his starfish spawnlings. He just does it. Why would he do that?
MAGEDDON is a war machine, created by the Old Gods and used in their own Ragnarok. It was made to make sentient lifeforms destroy each other.
IMPERIEX The reputation alone of the star-spanning Imperiex was enough to instill fear in the heart of Mongul the Second (especially when the called "Destroyer of Galaxies" decimated the Warworld).Over 8 million on Earth were killed during the attack on the planet.
DARKSEID is the supreme monarch of planet Apokolips, considered as one of Superman's greatest adversaries and the greatest threat to the DC Universe as he seeks to control all living things with the Anti-Life Equation.Deseved far better than the shitfest called 'final crisis', got respect in the cartoon however!"I am many things Kal-El... but here I am god..."
CYBORG SUPERMAN With his organic parts genetically identical to Superman's, many believed that the Cyborg truly was the Last Son of Krypton restored to life after dying in a battle with Doomsday.Hank would then commit an act that would have severe consequences on the DCU for decades afterward (such as Zero-Hour and its consequences). This act had been fueled by many psychotic motivations like his desire to remake Coast City into his image, to forever discredit Superman, and to erase the memory of his wife Terri who was from Coast City.
QUEEN OF FABLES The Queen of Fables' was originally a sorceress from another dimension until she was exiled to Earth. She reigned until princess Snow White defied her and she was trapped in the Book of Fables. Snow White used the book to turn fact into fiction and undo all the Queen's terrible acts.I know , but it 's the kind of silliness comics exist for!
PARALLAX No space bug shit! One of the things I liked about the old Jordan was that he was getting visibly older. Not wiser, though. Instead, he went through a long character arc of rebuilding his lost youth. Getting back his position of GL of earth (by means of dubious ethics), moving back to California, becoming a pilot again, working with Carol Ferris again, etc. All this smack of a man going through a mid-life crisis trying to recapture his past. Considering his actions leading up to and in Zero Hour....
For me, Emerald Twilight and Zero Hour were the logical, even necessary outcomes to Hal Jordan's story; this entire GL series was leading up to it. It begins with the last few Green Lantern's at war with the last, now-mad, Guardian in the ruins of Oa, and ends with the last Guardian fleeing the ruins of Oa from the last, now-mad Green Lantern. That's a classical tragedy, that is.Trying to retcon it all away and turn Hal back into a GL and a hero is like trying to write MacBeth 2: Scottish Boogaloo.
DESPERO has it all: stronger than Superman, stronger telepathy than Martian Manhunter, a sizeable intellect and power that comes from his own hate. After his first major defeat in this form, pieces of him were scattered into space. Using only his pure hatred for the Justice League, Despero somehow pulled himself together and flew down to Earth for revenge.Despero’s coolest moment was fighting the Justice League while wearing nothing but a tattered United Nations flag as a cape.
NERON a real demon that enjoys his job as lord of hell!virtually every appearance he has had shows him to be an incredible manipulator, with feats of planning and manipulation incredibly complex AND effective, he's in fact the representation of human selfishness, since he actually respects his part of the bargain, you're at fault if it is not what you were expecting
AMAZO the cartoon version, the folks at WB knew what they were doing with our robot friend. First off, they ditched the skull-cap/mummy-pants look and replaced him with something a bit more T-1000. Debuting in an episode fittingly titled “Tabula Rasa”, Amazo had a human personality, but the understanding of a child. His creator was dead, but he couldn’t understand the concept until Lex Luthor spelled it out for him. For the rest of the story, he wasn’t fighting the Justice League because he was programmed to. He was doing it because he was simply manipulated by a rat.
LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR Mike Carey 's best book & a fallen angel that holds no interest in ruling hell & decided to live on earth while still being a jerk
QWSP was for many years a valued ally of the undersea monarch. However, inspired by Aquaman's sudden change in appearance and outlook, Qwsp became a deadly threat, not only to Aquaman, but to the entire world. Qwsp manipulated another denizen of the Fifth Dimension, Lkz, into attacking the Third Dimension (our dimension). His plot was foiled through the efforts of the Justice League of America,
ARES God of war & absolute worst enemy of Wonder Woman!
Wonder Woman is peace, love, and truth while Ares is war, hatred, and hyprocritism.when you make people wage war your everyday job, you definitely are a badass!
LEX LUTHOR the DC underdog, while he achieved many of his goals his jealousy towards Superman is what cripples Lex. He is the villain that makes you ask yourself if you want to admire him or to spit on his face for his many dirty deeds...that is the sign of an awesome character!

Lucifer is more than powerful enough to be in this photo.
But he’s not at all a threat to the universe.

I might as well ask, besides the usual anti-Morrison and Johns rhetoric, what else don't you like about Final Crisis, Blackest Night, and Brightest Day?

Y'know, before now, I never really realized just how many enormous threats DC's heroes have faced and fought, be it one-time or on a daily basis. It's a wonder the authorities leave these horrors in the hands of vigilante justice.

Actually Parallax is DC's fear entity, apart of the abstract beings of the emotion spectrum. Each entity powers different Lantern Corps. Ion the being willpower, powers the green lantern corps, Parallax the Sinestro corps, etc. The entites can possess people, hence the what happened to Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, and Barry Allen.

I know, I'm aware of the Johns version. It happens that I'm more a fan of Marz's Parallax, where it was Hal all by himself acting like any of us & doing the first sensible thing in comics: killing the dumb little smurfs ! Everyone cheered at that point ! And My DCU stops with Young Justice (The PAD comics!) so I take or leave what happened afterwards ...

Right, that and Lucifer didn't really seem a threat to me. Just a person that wanted to make his own creation, without being under the Presence rule. Of course being Lucifer, he always gets the bad rap. lol

Don't worry Leon, I'll revisit the Lucifer concept (especially since he's constantly bitching! Dude, You rule HELL ! You're feared , you have power ! At least Neron is happy with his job & condition !)

Considering how in the Modern Age the position of Top Dog of Hell keeps switching hands, Blaze might consider looking out for possible threats.

the version i'm using here is mad jordan, mostly because the Hal Jordan saga ended in final night! oh & because Johns got rid of Guy's vuldarian powers & made him a butt kisser; nuts to that! Guy could barely stand Hal as a lantern, he became friends with John & Kyle a bit later.

Honestly I always thought the grey hair was from hairdye and didn't he have some bad luck with other things like getting blasted with Ergono energy that shook him and was wearing another evil Green Lantern's ring at the time?
As for his end, not exactly the most memorable way to go, just taking care of a burned-out sun and a sun-eater; and that took all the power he absorbed from Oa?! Don't get me wrong, it was nice to see Jordan get his original mentality back and turning away from the mindset of Parallax the whiner, but still...
