Description See, when people talk about Great X-Men villains, these are the End point bosses I tend to think of ; The Sexiest , The Cruelest and The Deftest. And I do hope for them to take the world by storm once again (that means in animation obviously...).
These 3 made the series for me as well as the 2 greatest X-Runs. Thus it totally makes sense that Marvel made them irrelevant and swept their arcs under the rug. How so ? Like soΒ devilkais.deviantart.com/journ…
Oh well, what new spore of madness will inspire me again...

Wait, when you're putting Stryfe in the middle, are you saying he could win through all the Marvel events that happen in your kanon in the span of one year?

No. You're overthinking it. The pose was cool is all...

Ah,sorry,is just that he's sitting in the position of Akainu chair and Oda said that about Akainu

If you want a good distinctiopn; Stryfe is powerful BUT he's also balanced, entertaining and has compelling interactions with others. Akainu, power aside is boring as fuck and more than a chore to read.
... and about what Oda said, well senility is definitely settling in because it really devalues the sense of adventure honestly. It does not hype up Sakazuki, it just confirms that he's an overpowered plot device. Honestly , the privateers and Ener were the best villains , Oda really should have have focused on Piracy and left the whole government crap elsewhere...
In all logic, a storm in the sea sinking his ship should be enough to kill the guy

Woha, how didΒ΄nt I found that one earlier?
You certainly have a gif to make comic bad guys look horrifying and chill the same time.
Yeah, everyone of these three should appear in at least 2 movies or serve as main antagonists for at least one season of a TV show.Β

devilkais In reply to Kraut007 [2018-05-28 22:49:54 +0000 UTC]

At the very least, their storylines should be consequences of one another.... I am glad you find them impressive here, the best way to draw a supervillain is to embrace said supervillain from history to personality...

Very classy Β  I like how Stryfe, the Chaosbringer looks more like a rascal than a sir. And Apocalypse's expression is priceless!
Β  What? Instead of using villains like us, they actually created the Hellfire Club kids?! How utterly disgusting!

devilkais In reply to LadyMadCat [2018-05-29 19:16:28 +0000 UTC]

It is fucked up enough I'd say. Though consider it more a study on human morality because the main character is NOT made to be sympathetic...

Not to dish the classic look for Essex but I do prefer a more simplistic Victorian look like here. The Mr. Freeze glasses are a nice touch.

Oh wow, Stryfe is dressed incredibly casual here. I can imagine him in an English pub with a pint of beer and watching soccer. Though will he wait until the game is done before torturingΒ  and killing the other patrons... This is also the first time I've noticed what an impressive chin he has. Maybe Bruce Campbell should have played Cable. He already has experience in playing a hero with a metal arm who travels through time and has an evil look-a-like who dresses in an over-the-top armour.

The look on Big A's face makes me laugh. It look likes he's wondering if he remembered to turn the light off in the pyramid before leaving. "I just now it's going to bother me the whole day."

Great pic. Your X-Men stuff is gold.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

devilkais In reply to 141188 [2018-05-28 23:19:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I was thinking that this casual look would be more fitting since he walks among crowds at times (it is a mix of his victorian garb and what he wore in Weapon X...). The more heavy metal style with the torn ribbons as cape and the long hair works more during a combat or intimidation situation...

Well , THIS is the main inspiration for his pose hereΒ cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/16… and something I have noticed, Young Stryfe DOES look like that ! He even beat up hobos for fun in his early yearsΒ 2.bp.blogspot.com/-gdMwWCy_3tQ…

You KNOW he'd totally be bothered by that ! XD After all, the guy lives alone most of the time...

I am really honored you like it ! Now, I must respond to THISΒ vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ma…

They're not using him anymore. That kid by the way is just NOT worthy of the name and even his cutesy design is an insult to the original. As a child, Apocalypse is supposed to look grotesque which is why he was treated like a leper by his tribe...

I'm gonna go on a limb and say the three seats and the poses may be inspired by the admirals of One Piece.

Feel free to shoot me down.

devilkais In reply to pasosDshinigami [2018-05-16 11:19:20 +0000 UTC]

Pretty much XD you got quite an eye ! Now there are some variations here and there and the difference is that these 3 are great while the admirals seriously blow. We had to wait till Dressrosa to get the first compelling admiral !

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pasosDshinigami In reply to devilkais [2018-05-16 12:07:37 +0000 UTC]

The admirals were supposed to be the toughest of marines and intimidate everyone.

Possibly meant to be forces of nature rather than, well, imposing villains or such.

Although, Oda based them off some of his favorite actors. Our new addition is Zatoichi.

Check the movie series and you'll understand the casino scene when we meet Purple.

Oh but I am aware... however, they simply do not have a patch on these guysΒ The 7 Initial Great Privateers Β . Even the force of nature aspect kind of flies away when you remember who they work for...
Ah yes, since his massage parlour got closed, Ichi turned to gambling XD Which does not stop him from investigating the case of Glam Escobar !

pasosDshinigami In reply to devilkais [2018-05-16 17:50:06 +0000 UTC]

Ichi is one of the greatest samurais out there and a good archetype for the lone cowboy theme.

Going around from town to town, stopping evildoers, and then leaving without expecting gratitude.

As for the Privateers/Shichibukai, I am aware of your thoughts. I wish One Piece could make its mind.

One moment we have to see them and the next wait far too many arcs to see some action.

Oda really needed an editor. I get he wants to make THE epic manga with everything an actual epic is.

But he could've really used someone to bounce off ideas with and trim out the fatty bits.

devilkais In reply to pasosDshinigami [2018-05-23 11:18:51 +0000 UTC]

True, the Whole Cake Island arc was a friggin' drag (and Big Mum was disappointing... I think her children would be a far more formidable force without her...)

He has good ideas, the man needs to work on the length and the punchline more.
