Description Oh boy. This one took me such a long time to complete. And by a long time, I mean since freaking August ! I mean the Batman one ? Batman's mythos surpasses the comics medium so far that people know about him even without having even GLANCED at a single Batman comic in their entire life. So the parts that you don't like are as easy to remove as a syphillis-ridden nose (I think I will get troubles for this metaphor ...).
Spawn ? Take the filler issues away and you got one big great story !
X-men ? Errrr... actually , for any Marvel franchise I read, I sort of play Death Surgeon with it. Basically , if continuity was a body , I trounce with the scalpel, the butcher knife, the spoon, the chainsaw and rubber ducky , take the part I like , sew them up (with whatever floats my boat...) and it ends up with a face like this www.tattooarchive.com/assets/i… , and I am PROUD OF IT! What I don't like ? It ends up here michellegeorgiana.com/wp-conte… , simple as that.

So... to make long story short, I basically took my old drawings and concepts here:

devilkais.deviantart.com/art/M…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/M…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/M…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/G…
devilkais.deviantart.com/journ…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…
devilkais.deviantart.com/art/X…

... and, with maybe some tweaking here and there, it ended up being my own X-men verse. As for controversial elements:
- Maggott is back through an experiment that modified his organism for better or worse...
- No more Cyclops VS Wolverine rivalry; seriously it got older than a trilobite's ballsack.
- No more love triangles...
- Magneto is not that prominent, TIME for the others to get their fair share of the cake and the opportunity to shine! (Yes, it includes Stryfe!)
- People have the right smoke...
- Cable is still president of Rummekistan.
- The trial of Gambit should be reworked to have a resolution close to JLA:Tower of Babel.
- This poster was supposed to be even bigger but I lacked time. Also, most of them were supposed to flip the bird, but I thought it'd be too repetitive.
- The heart and the tongue are the best meats. But roasted !
- Don't worry for the characters that aren't here , they appear in a future poster .
- Cyclops is married to Jean. Also, no space chicken come-back , no Paris Hilton and no destroyer fetus from the sewers. This is X-men, not Ren & Stimpy.
- District X and Mutant Town still exist... so does Genosha.
- And because I am an insisting little jerk devilkais.deviantart.com/journ… XD.

I should point out who is who , but I will give you the pleasure to guess. Good luck and enjoy!

So... it's taken me few years to get here, hasn't it? I did see this pic first time several years ago but I think the size of it kind of intmidated me. See, at the time I had only started to find X-Men. I had a long history with Spider-Man comics but X-Men, outside of the movies, were not familiar to me. I did what all the beginners do and read the "classics" aka Claremont stuff but it didn't really do anything to me. However, it was at the time I caught up with both 90s X-Men cartoon and X-Men: Evolution and they sparked my interest further (I especially have the 90s cartoon to thank for introducing Apocalypse to me). I don't remember what was the first of your works I found but it was your X-Men stuff that made me follow you. It was refreshing to hear that not everyone liked Claremont and that there was better stuff to find. And now, years later, I'm finally starting to have a better understanding of the entire X-Men lore, including X-Force, X-Factor, Generation X and the Colcord/Jackson version of Weapon X (which I enjoyed until Wolverine showed up). Mind you, even now I can't recognise all the characters here and can only guess what some of your headcanons for them are. Still, your version is much more fascinating to follow than what they've been doing with these characters the past 10+ years. I guess what I'm just trying to say is thanks for all the good works and I hope to see more.

You notice that I did not mention anything of Excalibur and Exiles here, that's because I have no idea about them, but you've mentioned them from time to time so... are there runs or stories that you'd recommend reading?

Man I am honored to hear that. I am excedingly glad to know that my essays both entertained and had you see the scope of the characters... and that the best parts in comics are the ones that are insulted or ignored. And I did all this in fairness.
As you know, Claremont did nothing to me either.... I mean some moments were fine like the first appearances of Jubilee and Gambit but the good stuff like X-Tinction Agenda was solidified thanks to Louise Simonson's X-Factor (since she created Hodge... if it were not for her, they'd be fighting "cliche bunch of racist dickweeds"#145674 )
I am happy to hear you enjoyed Colcord/Jackson's Weapon X (and yeah the arcs focusing on anyone but Logan are damn good ! The first 14 issues were great and bleak !) . I constantly hear people insulting it...no idea why ! Considering what those morons like...
You will see more ! I just need to tune them properly.

Exiles... is a great X-related series up till House Of M fucks things up. I'd say that the Winnick issues are pretty good, so are the Austen ones IF you skip the shitty crossover he makes with is shitty X-men run... funny thing about the Austen stories; he wrote what I see as my favorite Exiles arc "A blink in time", Though I'd advice reading from the start for the full emotional roller coaster. Then Tony Bedard comes on board and he is pretty good... up till HoM, THAT killed my enjoyment of the title despite some fun moments afterwards (you can tell Bedard LOVES obscure series !). Point is , I loved Blink in AoA and Exiles did nothing but increase my appreciation for Clarice !

Excalibur...oh. Ooooh...this is a tough one for me. I mean, THIS is Claremont Claremonting HARD ! There is a common point with Exiles as it deals with Parallel worlds , but the way the multiverse is structured I was rolling my eyes ! I also DESPISE Captain Britain. And Megan. So Jean and Scott 's love has been ERASED from Canon and yet see the relation that is allowed to remain... THAT is some bullshit man ! I guess I'll reread it focusing on Nightcrawler and Rachel.... and I will take a shot each time there is claremonting on panel.

Pure awesomeness!!!! I would've commented on this earlier but I was off DA for months and only got to see this recently.

Anyways, fantastic work! What a comprehensive collage of characters! Some bits make me feel nostalgic, and looking at your groupings I actually feel sorry about certain events that have occurred in the actual comic storyline, and now those ideas of yours won't ever have the chance to come true. Genosha, a decent X-Men school/mansion etc....you get the idea.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw my favorite arrogant French prettyboy up there And Mags lurking in the shadows? It'd be interesting to see that. I'd rather see him with a beard than bald like he is nowadays in the comics, anyway

Millions of thanks for not including my most hated X-character, the disgusting fetus garbage bitch

Too bad for Colossus and the Prof I myself would prefer them to be alive. But at least in your universe, Banshee never died! And this means no Vulcan either, yesssss! Man, I just wish I could erase certain events and characters from the X-Men's history!

I truly appreciate your effort of making this. It's so refreshing to look at after the sour, shitty mess that the X-Men comics are nowadays! I'm barely reading anything anymore but I'm loosely following the events, in case some character I'm interested in might make an appearance......although I've reached the point where I'd rather have them stay in limbo for a long time instead of being included into any of that crap.

Keep up the great work!

He was last seen during the Necrosha storyline, helping free the resurrected Doug Ramsey from Selene's control.

Ah ok, I never got to see all of that story line. So, is Doug dead again? I remember Thunderbird saying they would all be dead again. Funny, that arc was actually doing some cool stuff with Doug and his powers. Just shows there is no such thing as a lame character as long as you have a good writer.

Firt off , WELCOME ! I believe this is the first time we meet , so thanks again for the comment !
Well , I thought he ended up as dust and that the one in Annihilation Conquest was another specimen (though I do apologise , I stopped caring about what Marvel really does these days...and that story was the last one I ever cared about ...) So I guess I got it mixed-up. Oops...

Thanks for the warm welcome and its good to meet you as well. As for the dust I think he ended up merging with another Technarchy but honestly who can keep up with the lives, deaths and rebirths of superheroes eh? Like yourself Ive largely lost interest in Marvel and DC these days. I was just curious if he was dead again since he used to be a personal favorite character of mine.

rodentfanatic [2013-10-15 18:55:40 +0000 UTC]

HOLY SHIT HOW DID YOU GET THEM ALL IN THERE

AND THEY ALL LOOK GOOD TOO!

GODDAMN!

- Aw, yay Maggot! I know he was unpopular with others but I always sorta liked him, he was one of the first X-Men to just get so stuck with suck. And not even dramatic suck like Rogue, just grossness! Poor kid.
- Yes, much as I love me some good Magneto stories, he just became everyone's go-to for everything, and I feel like there are some villains that could have used the time instead. (I will in particuliar clamor for MOAR HELLFIRE until the end of my days, but that's just my bias)
- You probably have this in one of the links, but...if Jean is still around, and there was no space-chicken comeback, what's the "Firebird" bit on the left side? Is that your version of the Phoenix storyline? How does that go?
- THEY ARE SO CUTE IN "FORMATION"!
-Awww, is that Tarot with her cards floatin' around in the Hellfire Club? And Selene is lookin' good with the high fantasy sorceress look and zombies. I also like how Magma and Sunspot look, to me, like they're working for her, judging on their placement! Pierce looks like an insane killing machine, and Shinobi looks like a smarmy little shit, both of which are 100% as they should be. And Shaw and the woman next to him (Maddie? Tessa?) are just TOO BORED FOR YOU PEONS
- Ooooh, is that's Mags' helmet I spy next to the Genosha sign? And I love keeping Mutant Town and District X around in addition to Genosha, I really like that, like real minorities, mutants set up their own subcultures and districts and what.
-DEADPOOL AND CABLE IN SUITS, I LOVE IT
- Oh good, Prof X is dead. Sorry, that sounds terrible, like I hate him. I don't. I just think that as a character, his role is over and he should really just stay in the ground for once. Please. Plus how would he even be alive at this point? Besides all the various youth-incuding and cloning and stuff in canon, I mean, but...yeah. Dude needs to be let go and made a legacy.

Thank you, I intend to do that to many series I love. These posters can be a bitch to complete, thus people commenting on it bring me a lot of pleasure !

Now for your remarks :

- Maggott is indeed both adorable and unique . People just hate on the guy for no discernible reason, like they do for Spawn...
- This is what I always said about Magneto:he is not the X-men greatest foe but their mentor's greatest rival!
I don't know why they always make him the star - he is NOT the most ideologically-enduring villain, not by a long shot. Nowadays he's whatever a writer makes of him & , while not always a bad thing, it goes sometimes beyond the boundaries of good taste. There's the mustache twirling & large ham Stan Lee version; the tormented, ruthless yet principled , almost heroic version of Claremont (close to the TAS version); the frightening, violent , methodical & clever Lobdell/Nicieza one (close to the evolution version) & the (it must be said ) idiotic, pedophiliac ,drugged up, borderline retarded Magneto of Morrison (I'll never get tired of saying that ! XD) ; and the (sorry) just plain dull washed up, cleaned of his sins ,poodle to the new Gary Stu in charge current version. So he needs a revamp and quick!
As for the bottom parts you see [the groups are : The Hellfire Club , Weapon X, The Horsemen of Apocalypse, The Marauders, The wild cards without a particular team , The District X baddies] I drugged my brain with this song to draw them RIGHT  www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKqswW… !
- Actually, EXCEPT for the # 14, all these storylines exist. Firebird is a reference to the Dark Phoenix saga. And the real Jean was the one that comes back in X-Factor .
- You may be onto something ... I should try drawing more things mike this XD
- Yep It is Tarot ! Marie-Ange was after all with King Bedlam, so I decided to brig them back ! We need more players in the Hellfire Club after all. I thought that a rivalry between Shaw and Selene would be more than interesting: One can be violent but is collected, while the other is an anthropophageous and ruthless predator. In my first draft , Selene was supposed to bathe nude with the corpses by her side, but it was too much for a column.
The lady by Shaw's side is Tessa, Maddie is at the very top of the solitary villains column.
- Indeed, as I said House of M was utter shite . District X is simply way too delicious a battlefield or prize! And so is Genosha ... but it is protected !
- I just gave them their rightful place !
- I will talk about THAT point in a future essay ...

THANKS AGAIN !

Holy hell, man. Looks like you were able to successfully integrate every major aspect of the series into something legitimately well-structured. I can really tell that every person in this poster plays their own unique and effective role in the universe and off of their relations to the heroes of the story.

I do regret that you are not the man behind such a series, wherein there is such irredeemable faults. I feel that with your mindset, the series could have reached long lasting heights that actually provided substance rather than fleeting glamor, like many other unfortunate writers/artists.

Although, you could always just create an awesome series that was inspired by this, and make it something that's WAY better; I believe that you really could, too.

Nevertheless, I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of work and thought that you had put into every single element of this poster, and I am thoroughly convinced that you have the proper notion of what makes a series so strong and lasting. Fantastic work, my friend, honest and for true.

Once again Thank you! These posters can be a bitch to complete, thus people commenting on them bring me a lot of pleasure and do motivate me ! Faving is cool, but comments are priceless !

Truth be told , I am no writer. I am more or less throwing concepts; you see, whenever I dislike something, I think about the reason and how it should have been handled ! The video Game X-men legends II handled the basic concept better than the post 1997 comics:

Thank you again, I wonder which series I should attack next ?
