Description
Charcoal and graphite on 19'x26' paper.Another thing for art class. We were told to incorporate a figure into a background. We weren't allowed to copy directly from observation so I used photos. I'm not a great photographer so I used some lovely people's stock:
Thanks.
I know my teacher will like it because it has a lot of random scribbles. Ohhhhhhhhhhh art school haha.

Not a problem. Thanks for making it accessible to people like me. It's really appreciated.

Thanks. I didn't notice it was that different because a lot of my art school stuff is similar. I guess I'm forgetting that I don't upload a lot of stuff from school.

I see. Still cool stuff.
I only wish my art class was that useful.

Aww, that sucks.
Are you in art school or just taking a course on the side?
Either way, I don't know how helpful it is, other than forcing you to practice.

It was at a community college. The problem was my teacher had a 6 hour class (once a week) and a 3 hour class (twice a week). But she taught the classes the same way. However, she expected use to start a new 18" X 24" still life drawing and finish it in under 2 hours, and get it perfect. She also would always give this back-handed complement each time "Maybe it would look better if you had more time."
Not only that, but she would briefly touch on subject, and not even explain in a way the class understood.
Such as when we covered Perspective drawing, went over it for maybe 30 min, then expected us to do a 3 point perspective drawing.
Then near the end semester, we had to learn mat boarding in one class, and again had to get it perfect. I could understand if we lost point on the grade if we had been practicing for weeks, but after one class, it's utter bullshit.
She just sucked out any fun you could have learning to draw. I'm just glade to be out of that class. Although, I need to find a better teacher next time.

Wow, she sounds like a really crappy teacher. If I was graded on the stuff I do in class, I would fail for sure haha (I think I have performance anxiety 8I).
Anyway, we have to do our graded stuff as homework and can ask for extra help outside of class. I know I complain a lot, but really my teachers have been pretty sweet. Good luck with finding a new one.

That's good. I forgot to mention that I was supposed to portray a mood as well.

The scribbles show you so many things, man . . .
You can see the future in the scribbles . . .

It's not that I hate the scribbles, or that I can't see meaning in them. It's that I find myself pandering to the wants of my teachers. I don't feel like I'm getting better, but I'm still getting good grades because I know how to play the system.
