Anaesthesia

You’re like an illusion created by a thousand crying poets in the dead of night.
You destroy my insides, forever burning in an endless fright.
"Forever burning", she said, "we shalt remain, flying freely in the night sky."
And thus their story began, as the tears finally ran dry.

And for a while, he never cried in her absence,
knowing their painful passion was her only indulgence.
But their eternal summer could not last; their Heaven would drown in the frozen sea.
"Can't you see the gloom in my eyes, my love? There is no future for you and me."

His mind would soon decay in the anaesthesia of her sadness.
"This is the beginning of the end." He shouted, as they swirled into madness.
But their eternal summer could not last,
as everything came to pass.
She could feel his cold skin, and the hotness of his breath.
The very last touch, of the man she loved to death.

The man who made her feel alive,
who taught her to survive,
was now fighting illusions in his mind,
as his consciousness made an endless dive.
A dive into his madness.
Into horrible blackness.
Until his final days alive...
