Backstory:
Joseph Meredith was born in 1455 of October 13th, within the city of Gresit where his parents met and fell in love with one another. His father was a renown blacksmith that is capable of crafting the finest of weapons with such precision and his mother worked as a nurse. Joseph’s parents were proud believers of the Church, going to services every Sunday morning. Yet their faith was beginning to decrease due to the Church passing a law on scientific medical aid being labeled as “Witchcraft” and is punishable by death. Joshua and Helen Meredith thought it was best to leave Gresit and move to somewhere else but then the Church came into their home unannounced one day.

They accused Helen of being a witch and sentenced her to be burned while Joshua pleaded for them to reconsider and not to kill his love, however they refuse to listen. Joseph's father tried to save his wife by fighting against the Church yet their followers' strength proved too much and fled the city with Joseph in hand. They moved to Targoviste where Joshua Meredith fell into a deep depression, forcing Joseph to take the reins in trying to find work to feed them. He takes on numerous jobs to gain either money or food, forcing himself into maturity earlier than other children had to. At one point, Joseph worked as a miner under inhuman conditions as the workers (teens and older men) were forced to mine for long periods of time with barely any breaks and were often whipped if they’re slowing down. When Joshua ended up becoming incredibly sick, Joseph was afraid that he was going to lose his father after his mother’s burning, but was told by an old lady that there was someone who could save Joshua Meredith.

This leads Joseph to meet Lisa Tepes, an amazing doctor and his only hope in saving his father from the sickness that troubled him. The son begged her to save his old man's life which she does without needing another world. Joshua was healed afterwards and expressed his gratitude to Lisa as did Joseph, she only stated that it was her job to help. The young man found admiration in Lisa’s line of work and wished to be her apprentice so that he could learn medicine which Joseph can use to help others. Lisa accepted, Joseph became her student and started taking lessons from her so that he may one day become a doctor in his own right.

Earlier in the story, Joseph will be part of Dracula’s War council as he knows what Vlad is feeling after watching his wife be burned, for it was the same to what happened with his mother. Joseph’s previous exposure to human curality before Lisa’s death had only ignited a raging fire in his soul that demands justice for these crimes. He’ll serve as a private soldier/bodyguard to Dracula and his forgemasters, having been taught the way of fighting by his father at a young age. He understands the viewpoints of both Issac and Hector about the matter of Dracula's genciode but could not come to a conclusion himself. Joseph just serves as a fighter, learning to turn himself into a tool for battle and learn magic from books held in Vlad’s library with his permission.

Season 2 - 3 storyline will be expanded upon at a later date.
