Nice man Asuka was my fav, but my main fav now is Mari and I haven't even seen the Rebuild films yet I just saw a pic of her and I was like hell yeah. xD

OMG you've never seen Neon Genesis Evangelion?
If I had to describe it in one word, it'd be "mindfuck." It's hella trippy, but hella effing awesome. It's not really your typical mecha anime, where there's a badass hero that just beats the shit out of other mechs... The main character, Shinji Ikari, is a pussy... He's afraid to fight, but he does it to gain the approval of his dad, who thinks he's nothing... But of course, Shinji sucks ass at fighting and gets raped time and time again by their enemies, the Angels... So really, it's not a mecha vs. mecha deal... It's mecha vs. angel... It's so awesome though. The action is awesome, and the story is too, yet at times angering and depressing, but that's why it's so great xD Also, the last two episodes are the most mind-fuckiness things you'll ever watch, which makes most NGE watchers hate the ending... I loved the ending, and understood it... Most people don't like the end cos it's very subliminal and you have to pull a lot of shit outta it, but it's really good... There's also the movie which is basically the last two episodes in full, complete detail called End of Evangelion, and it's got to be one of the greatest anime movies I've seen... Lots of action and stuff... Go watch it... Now. Again, if you're expecting mecha fights like Gundam or Code Geass, change your expectations.
In short: "...any good?" Yes.
I prefer the anime, since it was actually made with release of the manga... The anime was made first, but the manga was released before to hype everybody up... But the manga is way way way better IMO... but there's spin-off mangas that are pretty cool, like the Evangelion Academy and stuff ;D
