Description
I think that's strawberry jam coming outta that dude's eye. But I could be wrong. Coloring is 100% photoshopped. I've been messing around with the technique for a while now. The goal is to make it look as traditionally painted as possible. The slick computer look is fine, but it leaves me unsatisfied. It'll be cool to see where this style leads me, and if people respond to it.Sound track "The Urge" / Gift of Flavor album.

Have you ever tried artrage for a more traditional feel in the colours?
This looks great by the way I just never got the love of Monkeys in the comic book community.

I like the texture you've got in this.
It looks like colored pencil over a paper grocery bag.

love that inking style, very dynamic, Usually I have problems when the ink doesn't give the "movement" the original pencils have

I have that same dagger, and I somewhat resemble a monkey - now I question if you watch me sleep.

That monkey looks like the type to get pissed when someone gets strawberry jam on his crisp suit! I dig the textures on the walls, they really add to the drama, and the coloring style looks organic, rather than slick!

Dave,
That's nice man. Have you ever tried Painter? Painter and Photoshop work nicely together.

Tis a bloody good style you got there. Love the use of photoshop to make it look traditional. I wish more people would do this.

Lovely impact, nicelly executed painting technique.
Dunno if it stands up to your statements or achievements, but once my PhotoShop attempts were dismissed by someone as "Your coloring looks like it's done with markers and crayons, not on the computer" and I thought it was a splendid compliment - but then, what do I know..?

I dig, it looks more organic like pastels and chalks. Are those all by hand mark making or a combination of textures and brushes? either way the result is cool.
