Description
"Are you sure that's the place we have to go to?" Anna asked. When she noticed two of her Pokemon were not in the ranch, she took to the skies on the back of Virus and looked for them only to find the group by the crystal sinkhole. Peering over the ledge and into the abyss. Nothing but darkness that stretches as far as their eyes could see and the ambient humming of electricity that coursed through Virus' veins.Hattie nods her head feverishly. "Yes!" She squeaks, wiggling in their trainer's arms. "We have to! I-I know it seems sketchy, but we gotta!"
Grimoire looked unsure, glancing at the whole and seeing the whisps of miasma leak out. He then looked across to the other side, seeing the strange altar that they had to go to. He stepped away from the ledge and closer to Excalibur. "It doesn't look safe over there..." he spoke up, unsure.
"It isn't," Excalibur whipped his head towards the Hattenna, pointing his sword at the little Pokemon in their trainer's arms. Grimoire immediately jumped to his side, holding the other Pokemon back with a shocked gasp. Hattie squeaked, burying herself further into Anna's arms. "What is your motive? Your true motive," Excalibur interrogated the young Pokemon, stepping closer to his trainer that shielded the Hattenna away from the aloof Pokemon.
"Excalibur..." Anna said in a warning tone that fell on deaf ears.
"Excalibur stop!" Grimoire cried out. The young ghost Pokemon tugged on his childhood friend's scarf, attempting to make the other back down and lower his sword. "Sure going through this is a little farfetched, but she doesn't deserve a sword to the face!"
"She could be leading us into danger! You cannot honestly believe to be this gullible!" Excalibur snarled
"It's not gullible if I believe Hattie means us no harm!"
Before Excalibur could argue back, he's stopped when their trainer steps in and place a foot between him and the other Pokemon. "Alright alright! Break it up you two, now's not the time or the place for a quarrel!" She pointed a finger at Excalibur. "And you, I get it ok? It's a little suspicious sure, but we're already here and I would rather not have to go through that mushroom forest again and face that clown. I may not have been there but I heard everything, your laugh is creepy dude,"
"She could be leading us to our demise," Excalibur snarled.
"Not everyone's out to get you Excalibur. If you still think so, you're free to leave and go back to the ranch. I would rather us get this done sooner than later and arguing is just going to waste our time." Their trainer quickly shot back. Her face remained impassive, though still unreadable behind her mask. "So what's it going to be? You in or you're out?"
Grimoire nervously glanced between his trainer and his childhood friend. While Excalibur was being his typical jerk-self, Grimoire didn't want him to leave or go home alone!
"I-I promise," Hattie softly spoke up. "I promise I'll explain e-everything to you guys later... when we get there, you just have to trust me!"
Excalibur remained silent for a while. "I don't trust you," he said bluntly towards the Hattenna. After a few seconds, he turned his head away from their trainer. "I won't be there to help if your backs end up getting stabbed," he scoffed though he made no intention of leaving. His subtle way of backing down. Grimoire let out a sigh of relief.
"Daw!" Anna cooed, obnoxiously petting the Alolan Vulpix/Yamask/Honedge on the head and messing up his head tuft despite the Pokemon's steady growing growls. "I always knew you secretly cared behind that jerkish attitude of yours! Now to get over this hole because I don't want to backtrack," Anna abruptly turns back to the direction of the crystal alter, ignoring how Excalibur raised his sword with Grimoire holding him back.
"I can help," A static voice called out. Virus stood by the side watching, her electric veins pulsating ominously in the darkness, and her sharp white teeth shining through. The group flinched remembering the terrifying presence was with them.
Anna felt Hattie shiver in her arms and from the corner of her eye saw Excaliber and Grimoire keeping their distance from the living terror that was Virus. "Um, are you sure?" she asked, not wanting to subject their guest and her other Pokemon to this despite knowing Virus would never intentionally harm any of them.
Virus may be one of her favorites but by Arceus, she doesn't blame anyone for feeling nervous around the Duskull/Aerodactyl.
Virus continued to stare at the group silently, though Anna could see how much she was enjoying in their quiet panic. If the miasma wasn't making the atmosphere around them already heavy, this did.
"You've already been flying for a while, I can call up someone else on my roster so that you can take a break—"
"I can help."
"Ok," Anna immediately allowed, moving out the way to allow the bigger Pokemon to float her way to the edge of the sinkhole. Turning back to Grimoire and Excaliber, she gestured them to Virus' back. "Alright guys, after y'all,"
"Aren't you coming with us?" Grimoire asked as he managed to climb up the other Pokemon's back.
"Oh I am," she says, bringing out an unactivated Pokeball from her belt. "But there's only so much room on Virus' back and frankly I don't think I can fit. But don't worry, me and Hattie be there with you guys soon," Their trainer smiled. "Enjoy the ride guys!"
"Wait—" Before the two could have any say, Anna gave a thumbs up to the fossil Pokemon, and Virus curtly nodded. With a massive flap of her wings, Virus took to the air abruptly, flying over the crystal infested sinkhole, and like the actual menace she is, Virus relishes in the screams of terror coming from the two Pokemon on her back.
